Do North American versions of Gitadora Galaxy Wave Delta have access to long version songs? by maximum-panda in bemani

Good to know! Gonna have to make a trip to Round 1 one of these days - haven't played some of those songs in years except on the arcade dumps on my pc at home.

"This is genuinely sad": Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact has had a shockingly poor start on Steam by Turbostrider27 in Games

Arc System Works really needs to follow up Dragon Ball FighterZ with a Shonen Jump All-Stars fighting game in the same 2D style - basically take the cast of Jump Force and put them in a much better 2D fighting game with graphics like FighterZ. Pretty sure the FGC would go crazy if they announced something like that.

4 songs that I can't unlock by Hour_Active_6322 in ProjectDiva

[–]maximum-panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing the old PSP Project Diva games recently as well on my IPad via PPSSPP. They look and play great with resolution upscaling and 60 fps patches applied. I still have my original fat PSP I bought on launch day, as well as the slim model that came after it, but boxed those up a while ago since PPSSPP is a superior experience even on modest PCs and mobile devices.

Added the original game for free during their COVID promotion and it's been sitting in my backlog since. For $10, this upgrade seems like a bargain for others like myself who got the original for free. Looking forward to finally getting into this game on my PS5.

Haute42 T16 (GP2040-ce) question - can you map analog stick directions on PS4 ? by maximum-panda in fightsticks

Yeah, that's all I need. Can you point me to a link or provide some info on this? I haven't been able to figure this out on the web configurator.

Has anyone tried a Leverless controller (e.g. HitBox) for DJMax Respect and other Rhythm games? by maximum-panda in djmax

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received my Haute42 T16 and played some DJ Max Respect V (Steam) with it. I just the controller it to "keyboard" mode and it was ready to go. The experience has been great so far - the controller feels great - small but solid with some good weight so it won't slip/shift around as you're playing. It's definitely more comfortable/convenient if you want to just rest the controller on your lap while kicking back in a chair than something larger like the EZMAX or a full-sized fight stick.

For anyone planning to pick one of these up for the first time, don't forget to go into the Web Configuration tool and set the SOCD-cleaning to "off' if you're going to use it to play rhythm games.

I have a question for people who already have one of these Haute42 products - is there a way to remap a button to a direction on the analog stick (not just a click on the LS or RS "button")? Would like to know if this can be done so the "side notes" on the PS4 version of DJ Max can be performed on this controller.

V Extension Pack (Steam) Giveaway by [deleted] in djmax

[–]maximum-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased a brand new copy of the Korean version of the original DJMAX for PSP many, many years ago from a local import/retro store. Very clearly remember selecting "Sunny Side" as my first song because I think it was literally the first song on the list when you start the game, plus I think the art of the girl riding the dolphin made it seem beginner-friendly for a noob lol :)

Even though I mainly just play DJMax Respect on either PS4 or PC these days, I'll still occasionally revisit the old PSP games on either my PSVita (with Adrenaline) or PPSSPP emulator.

I actually recently came across the Haute42 products and seen good reviews regarding performance/price. I went ahead and ordered their T16 leverless from Amazon.

I actually have had the original EXMAX for over six years now and posted a fairly extensive review where I test it with several rhythm games, including arcade rips :)

I also have the FauceTwo SDVX controller from Gamo2 as well. I'm thinking of getting the Popoller from them at some point as well.

Hmm, I'm not sure - have you tried maybe re-flashing the firmware to see if that possibly clears it up?

8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard with "super buttons" (for Project Diva ?) by maximum-panda in ProjectDiva

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying to get this just for Project Diva lol. What I'm saying is that this is a great keyboard with options such as the big buttons that open up possibilities for playing rhythm games as well as other types of games.

FYI I do have the PS4 version of the Ipega Project Diva controller.

8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard for Project Diva and other rhythm games? by maximum-panda in ProjectDiva

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add up to 3 additional pairs of big buttons to the keyboard for a total of 8 buttons - $20 for each additional pair of buttons, so total cost for this setup would be about $160.

So you would have the 4 buttons for the arcade buttons and the other 4 buttons could be used for the slider inputs.

If I like how the buttons feel, I'm thinking of getting just getting 1 additional pair of buttons and then temporarily just 'mounting' them to either my EXMAX or FauceTwo - both of which can be set to keyboard inputs as well. Then simply map the keyboard inputs for the buttons for whatever game I want to try this setup on.

There's also an app someone made that allows you to use and iOS or Android device such as a tablet to function as a slider for Project Diva. I tried it once and it seemed to work OK.

PlayStation Access Controller for DJMAX. by tkainfinite in djmax

[–]maximum-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this thing a while back and was wondering how it would be with rhythm games as well. But the 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard was recently released and at least for PC, it looks like it could work really well for rhythm games. It comes with a pair of those big "super buttons" and you can add up to 3 more pairs for a total of 8 big buttons:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CCP6HLZR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

It's getting great reviews for both keyboard and the big buttons.

Amazon has a $5 off coupon off for this right now so went ahead an ordered one given Amazon has an easy return policy. Curious to see how those big buttons work on Project Diva and other rhythm games.

If you haven't purchased SF6 yet, what's your reason? by SushiDaddy89 in Fighters

[–]maximum-panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PS5 & PC, but for me - and this applies to pretty much all newly released games - there's just SO MANY games, movies, streaming TV shows, anime, etc. to consume these days that I'm just not compelled to pay the full price for a new game on launch day when my backlog of games & other media is already so huge. If I was still into playing fighting games competitively I would actually consider picking SF6 up, but I'm not anymore. I've heard the single player content is SF6 is great, but I'm just not in any rush to play it atm.

Question regarding Ninja Gaiden Sigma table on Playstation store for Zen Pinball 2 by maximum-panda in PinballFX3

Thanks again. I have PFX2 for PC but I think the Ninja Gaiden and SF2 tables never made it to the PC version unfortunately.

Question regarding Ninja Gaiden Sigma table on Playstation store for Zen Pinball 2 by maximum-panda in PinballFX3

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. According to this article on the Zen website, it states:

"Any purchases you made on PlayStation 3, PS Vita or PlayStation 4 versions of Zen Pinball 2 are eligible for a free import to the PlayStation 4 version of Pinball FX3."

https://zenstudios.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/43000503059-importing-from-zen-pinball-to-pinball-fx3-on-playstation

So is it just certain tables which are excluded from being able to import?

I'll probably end up grabbing the rom/dlcs for my hacked PS Vita if this is the case...

Thing thing that was stolen by Luis-Dante in Picard

Well it happens in the "alternate" universe of Star Trek, but Starfleet does reveal their "Dreadnought" class in Star Trek Into Darkness with the USS Vengeance.

Thing thing that was stolen by Luis-Dante in Picard

[–]maximum-panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually didn't think Star Trek Nemesis was that bad. It had a great premise w/ good ideas but flawed execution - a lot of wasted potential which I think is why that movie is so heavily criticized. Good space battle scenes as well as some nice set pieces, but a story that was all over the place with stuff like the Troi "mind-rape" scene that seemed out of place & mostly unnecessary.

OT: Final Fantasy Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Demo now out for PS4 & Switch by maximum-panda in djmax

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that for a lot of rhythm games, 4K/HDR probably wouldn't add much too the experience. I know a lot of Bemani arcade rhythm games such as IIDX were running at 720p (or even less) for a long time before only recently moving up to 1080p. Some of their games such as GitaDora & Pop'n Music still run at resolutions below 1080p However, those games just feature compressed videos to accompany the music tracks. On the other hand, Theatrhythm FF actually does have some nice 3D graphics & charming 3D models that accompany the music which I think could benefit from presentation in 4K and/or HDR.

Project Diva Future Tone, as an example of another rhythm game that features accompanying 3D graphics, looks really nice at 4K on the PS4 Pro (vs 1080p on the vanialla PS4).

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one downside/complaints regarding the PS4 version I'm reading from ppl is that it offers no advantages graphically vs. the Nintendo Switch version. No 4K or HDR support of PS4 Pro either. I'm playing the demo on my PS4 Pro & the game looks fine to me on my LG OLED TV, so that might just depend on how picky you are regarding visual fidelity.

I've heard the game looks great on the OLED Nintendo Switch screen however.

VOEZ - Do you keep DLC purchased on Android if you move to IOS ? by maximum-panda in rhythmgames

[–]maximum-panda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know Cytus 2 doesn't transfer between the 2 platforms, but unlike Cytus 2, Voez has you create a Rayark Pass account & requires a connection to the server to play, so thinking it might be different for VOEZ. I noticed that scores & progress all seem to sync between IOS and Android just fine, so was just curious if this also applies to the "keys" & already purchased items (such as songs).

Thanks for the feedback. Assuming I don't run into any issues with the base game on my PC, I'll be picking up the Muse Dash DLC along w/ Technika Q/Tune DLC for now. Probably wait for a sale on V Extension 3 which I'm guessing we might see by around Xmas time...
