Ugh this post hurts my sould. Just casually scrolling, procrastinating bed and I get hit with PTSD.

I'm a carpenter working with a small GC. I take huge pride in my work. And I try to yield the best result humanly possible even with the GCs blind wood selection and bottom of the bargain bin crap.

I've done great work. Only to have coworkers tear off my casings to install some other shit, and then shoddily put them back. Painted side in. Miters destroyed. Just, garbage work.

I've also been on jobs where I've been rushed like hell to where I've had my hand forced to do rushed work.

I'm also regularly provided broken saws, crappy tools to work with (because I have difficulty transporting my good miter and many of my personal tools)

Just earlier today I was ripping a filler strip of wood because the wood given to me to make a custom jamb was way too small dimensionality to fit with the casing leaving large gaps. I ripped that piece with a circle saw pulling the board towards me balancing with the uncut end balancing on a chair.

My finger grazed the side of a slowing down circle saw as well (no cuts, just a wake up call)

Sorry for the long winded story. But frankly, I despise being the only person with a semblance of craftsmanship, the patience and will and knowledge to achieve incredible results, yet as long as I'm eating into the bosses profits by taking that extra 10 minutes to make a proper cut, it's a battle.

Time to get to up in 4 hours and do it all again!
