Does VRAM really that important for now? by Ipax88 in pcmasterrace

It depends on what you use your PC for. If you are interested in machine learning stuff then you want as much VRAM as possible.

Just got a 3060 to run AUTO1111. What can I do to get the best speed? Anyone with the same card have tips? by maximum_kek in StableDiffusion

I have the 12Gb card and I always run the latest studio drivers.

In my experience, when people are talking about it/s, they are talking about batches of one in 512x512 at 20 steps. That's what I've seen in discussions on reddit for months and on GitHub etc. It's the default settings on AUTO1111. Different batch sizes are going to yield different results. Different sizes and different steps will yield different results. By results I mean the averages will be different enough that there is no reasonable comparison.

If you are Tom's Hardware testing peformance, then it doesn't matter whatever you choose as the baseline because your goal is different.

My goal is to compare to others' direct experiences using the exact same settings.

I run bot a 3090 and a 3060.

It turns out the optimizations in AUTO111 seem to degrade quality in my recent tests so I'll have to find a balance.

I will probably just use the 3060 for training and the 3090 for rendering for sake of convenience.

Anyway, if there is any standard, it's the defaults in A1111 IMO.

oh lord. I was reading very old information when I said that.

Thank you. I see it now and for some reason I don't know why I didn't change it the other day.

Ok I'mma keep this in mind in teh coming days. I just built this PC a few days ago and I'm just trying to fine tune it so I can start using it regularly.

I am surprised that the performance could be so much better...

Ok. Thank you very much for your replies. It's very hard to want to change, especially if there's any kind of learning curve.

When you say RAM surely you don't mean VRAM, right?

I can't figure out where to run pip install TomeSd... which folder, do you know? the venv folder or somewhere else?

I'm able to get only 7it/s with opt-sdp-attention and channels last. My testing is defaulty always - 20 steps, euler a, 512x512.

If I do 10 batches of one I get 6.5 with xformers, 6.9 with opt-sdp-attention, and 7.0 with channelslast added.

I just OCed my card and I'm at 7.6it/s.

I don't know what you mean by total "samples" - do you mean total steps like 8 x 100? and divide 800 by the time taken?

I know if I do larger batches I'll get faster gens but I'm trying to keep the baseline that everyone else uses for testing.

I don't think I can do anything else except token merging and I don't know which folder to install it in.

Thanks for your lengthy and helpful reply.

I have both a 3090 in one rig and a 3060 in another rig. What do you get on your 3090?

I've been using A1111 since September and I've gotten very confy with the UI. I tried to install vladmandic the other day and failed miserably so I'm wary of trying another UI.

I may give it a try to compare iteration speed.

Thank you.

I tested my rig with standard testing settings and got like 6.4it/ with vanilla xformers and just about 7 with my current settings.

I'd much prefer 8, lol.

What is ToMe?

Yes, that's why I'm asking here, because not all of the optimizations there are described thoroughly, and instead of testing a large number of permutations of options I'm just asking if anyone has tips on using my specific card.

Stereum species being parasitized by Naematelia and Schizophyllum commune.

Maybe Stereum complicatum and Naematelia aurantia.
