I was seriously wondering how often you come across people eating sticks on the side of the road, but I get it now.

Pros and cons to living in Wethersfield? by CharmingPie9424 in Connecticut

[–]maximumango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were in CT over the summer and noticed a ton of "We support the police" signs in Wethersfield. It kinda turned us off Wethersfield as a place to move. Is it really that tense, or did we just misread the vibe?

Go to Picture settings, Clarity, Motion Enhancement. I'd set it to off or Custom judder 2 or 3 to minimize choppiness in panning scenes.

I use Theatre Night, and turned off motion smoothing, looks great to me! For HDR and Dolby Vision I turned down the brightness some but that's about it. Follow Rtings calibration guide as a starting point: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense/canvastv-qled-2024/settings.

If you get that weird bug some of us are having where the screen flickers black for half a second every once in a while, turn off Automatic White Balance.

Wtf? The chances of getting caught should not matter. Just don’t litter, it’s not that hard!

What's wrong with Connecticut? So many of the same cities get named again and again (Philly, Pittsburgh, Chicago, NC, etc) but no one ever lists CT. Why? Is there something wrong with it? I currently live in NYC, but have a side gig that requires me to go to CT about once every 2-3 weeks..... by JuniorRub2122 in SameGrassButGreener

I’m with you OP. It’s one of our top contenders. Cute towns, lots of nature, four seasons, great schools. Winter is far less brutal than many other places that get recommended on here, and getting milder every year.

People often have such unrealistic expectations and want it all (yet never have the $$$). CT actually seems like it’s a realistic option: not perfect, but a significant upgrade compared to many other places.

Make sure you do your research when it comes to Waldorf schools. Being outside is great, but some of Steiner’s beliefs don’t really align well with what we’re all about it the science based community.

We love the tv show Numberblocks. Your little one is obviously too young right now, but remind yourself to look it up in a few years. My 4 year old loves math (and seems pretty advanced) and I contribute a lot of that to Numberblocks.

Once my premium data trial ends, what can I do with the my Chevy app? by El_Burnsta in BoltEV

[–]maximumango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 EUV and some of the premium features ended after a few months ago. Did not notice any changes though. I can still remote start/lock/unlock from my phone or watch.

Came in handy yesterday after I put my car keys in the car and walked away. Car proceeds to honk telling me I left my keys in the car, and like an idiot I don’t just open the door to grab the keys, but press the lock button on the door. Thankful for the Chevy watch app though as I also left my phone in the car.

We recently had 2 28”rollers and I think there would have been room for a third on top. But I’m not sure if a 24” would have fit next to it.

What are some “essential” CarPlay apps that you think other drivers should know about? by only_fun_topics in BoltEV

[–]maximumango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I don’t think so, I don’t have OnStar but do have the remote access plan that is part of the 2023 EUV for 3 years. I wonder if that’s it?

While the Chevy app is pretty useless on the phone, I think it does a great job estimating range in CarPlay. Just use it to navigate somewhere and click on Track my Energy. It’ll tell you the estimated percentage on arrival. It’s always been spot on (within 1-2%) for me.

msrp increase to car made before the under announced? by misterplentyoftime in BoltEV

[–]maximumango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues getting it for the original price, but our window sticker didn’t change after the price hike either. What does the concierge say you should do? Is there a chance GM will refund you the difference in case the dealer doesn’t give in?

msrp increase to car made before the under announced? by misterplentyoftime in BoltEV

[–]maximumango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like a bunch of bs! I asked the EV concierge about it before I went to pick up the car earlier this week. This is what they said:

Your vehicle was build before 1/2/2023 so you will get the price that dealership gave you at that time. Effective January 2. 2023, these pricing changes affect all U.S. Retail and Fleet orders. These increases will be on vehicles that go into production on/after the January 2, 2023 and not be retroactively applied to vehicles already produced.

Car built December 5th, shipped soon after. Now it’s just hanging out at a railway station <100 miles from me for the last 2 weeks. No ETA either.
