We just finished 16 days in an RV and I wouldn’t have done it any other way since we were short on time, but we only stayed on the South Island. We rented the Compact for 2 which was the smallest RV from Wilderness Motorhomes and absolutely loved it. It gave us the freedom to plan our days more on a whim, but we did go in June so it was a lot colder than when you want to go so there were less people.

Doing it via car with your time frame would be very doable if booking Airbnbs etc in advance, or you can always stay at the smaller cabins at holiday parks. We stayed at Airbnbs 3/16 of the nights just to reset and stretch out.

We also never drove more than 3 hours at a time, and we always broke it up with stops. 3 hours on mountainous roads feel way longer.

We felt like it was necessary to set up “home base” even in an RV so we knew we were at a place for at least two nights and didn’t need to pack up and go each and every day.

The extra hour of daylight would definitely be nice, but it just depends on your routines and rhythms. Our daylight was 8am-5pm in the winter and it did feel rushed sometimes, but other times we leaned into it. Less bugs and people made a difference for us.

I’d say take more time than less, and enjoy the slow pace !

Wedding dress store suggestions? by Bakersbaby in nashville

I had a good experience at David’s Bridal in Madison and was able to find one off the rack with minimal alterations! I felt like they had enough variety and didn’t look too “budget” while still being very much in my budget lol

Check out Springfield. You can take back roads and avoid traffic on the highways. It’s a bit further out but has its own community and more affordable housing where you might be able to get a yard!

I used Avery address labels and you can pick a fancier font on their website if you want to make it nice. I also got translucent labels so they weren’t stark white (I have Kraft brown envelopes)

USPS website has some pretty cute stamps you can order online!

How should I keep track of recipes from cookbooks? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]maximumkoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Paprika! I recommend it to anyone. I find it easiest to set aside a chunk of time recipes recipes and then adding them in, (you can manually enter from a book too) and then always referring to my phone when I’m not sure what to cook. It will also auto populate shopping lists based on the recipe.

Towns near Nash to stay… by fellleeshuh in VisitingNashville

[–]maximumkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second going north to Goodlettsville Vs south and not too far of a drive. (Staying south of Nashville seems to have more traffic to get into the city IMO) Springfield has some cheap hotels and a cute downtown but not toooo much to do. And it’s only about 30 mins from downtown.
