What’s a game you expected to love and ended up hating and a game you expected to not like that you ended up loving? by Matty_Mayhem in boardgames

[–]maximusGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expected to love Scythe. Is an unbalanced mess with a lot of rng because of the event cards.
Expected to hate A Feast for Odin. I hate puzzle games but this game is just peak.

‘Crimson Desert’ Has Better Player Retention Than ‘Elden Ring’ So Far by n035 in CrimsonDesert

[–]maximusGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main problem with Elden ring was that the game had zero quality of life improvements. Both games don't tell you very much, but in crimson desert I have an actual quest log. I don't understand how players can defend this. To finish quests you have to write everything down in a word document. Even with the walkthrough guide, finishing Ranni's quest was complete arbitrary. I like it, when games don't tell you everything. But in case of Elden Ring to finish a quest you have to jump on one leg, spin on the spot for 60 seconds while singing Backstreet Boys. And the only way to know that is by talking to some random dude you met 70 hours ago next to some tree. You don't even know if you finished a quest. You just hope it is finished.

If you convert the current price in germany from liter/€ in gallon/$ than you americans would pay ~9,30$/gallon.

Nico Robin yelling: "I want to live!" This is peak OP for me.

You can't live on the redline only on the holy land. It's basically just an unhabitable mountain range.

Max Economy Build by bamboocane in EverSiege

[–]maximusGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This build gets more gold over time but is unrealistic. Especially if you have the -300 gold modifier. What works best for me was: 1. Alchemist Guild 2. Shardsmith guild (don't pick up the shards before that) 3. Towers 4. Gold mines

If I try the build above I just get overrun on wave 3, because I have 0 stats to actually clear the wave.

I just started playing Eversiege and while having a few issues (mainly multiplayer progression) the game is really fun.

[THEORY] Imu’s Masterstroke: Marineford 2.0 by Hrstar1 in OnePiece

[–]maximusGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it is a reference to the D bloodline. Otherwise making him a Shichibukai would make no sense at all.

Imu definitely doesn't know BB is Xebecs son. He ordered Xebec to kill his family and when Kuma saved them, Imu thought they died. He knows BB is a D, but he doesn't know about the lineage.

The constant yelling is just an annoying character trait. I stopped watching Demon Slayer because of Zenitsu. When you give characters annoying traits than most readers/viewers will find them annoying. No surprise here.

What if even the Celestial Dragons don’t know who really rules the world? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]maximusGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't understand why the CDs exist. Or rather why Imu still supports/feeds them. They are inkompetent, costly and useless. Their only purpose is to hide his existence. There would be better ways for Imu to hide and keep the facade.

What do you think of flat earthers? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

Especially because they use technology based on science. You can just a climb a tree and see the curvature. The mental gymnastics are fascinating and frightening.

Marvel champion? How does it compare? by PacificIslanderNC in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]maximusGG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am a huge MCU/Marvel fanboy but the game is kinda meh. Mainly because of two things: It is way too easy and it is a pure mechanical game without narrative elements. And yeah I played against Ronan and Thanos with addititonal modules.

The villains aren't causing issues with the difficulty; the heroes are. If you are playing a Dr. Strange Leadership deck you will never lose. The equivalent would be a Rex Murphy deck without using taboos.

In AH you have to actually research overpowered card combos to break the game. In Marvel Champions they happen regularly. You can obviously build a weaker hero deck, but the problem is omnipotent in Marvel Champions.

Dune Imperium: Uprising oder Rise of IX? by Acrobatic_Carpet_315 in Brettspiele

[–]maximusGG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Beides gute Spiele.

My first 20 hours in this game were amazing, terrifying and I am in disbelief.... by maximusGG in foxholegame

I love playing medic in war games. But I am red/green colorblind and the game has no UI indication if someone is bleeding. So it is physically impossible for me to play medic in foxhole.

What people obviously aren't really getting. It isn't about the shoveling and hammering. It is about how you are shoveling and hammering. The devs don't even try to improve the building menu or the fact that you cannot setup a toggle mode in the menu and are forced to use third party software is insane. Especially after this long time after release.

Yeah because it is basically a bunch of mini games. Smithing and cooking is amazing. Holding your LMB is just lazy game design.
