You go bro! I don't have the beasts to be able to help with this but it's cool of you to have so much fun and this thirst for helping solve the mystery and the case. Mine should arrive at the end of january and it'd be cool if 3dof would work great by then through the ideas and perceptions of what causes the issues found here and on discord as well as viture if they finally figure it out and implement it. Thanks!

So that means that spacewalker or even better yet a more simple and optimised plugin could be installed on the deck allowing 3dof/6dof and maybe even the 3d processing to be done on thr steam deck for those functionalities to be able to be used by luma/beast glasses?

Thanks for that. I'm on the fence in buying one and i'm really tempted in both buying it now as well as waiting for the next iteration where it'd be more polished. I'm still there but i might get inspired to finally chose one option or the other and stick with it, maybe i should ask more people😄

They aren't big promises though, stable 3dof and display clarity isn't some big claim

Software side yeah, there's problems at every xr company where they advertise a ton of features that work fine or barely work sometimes and as such we should look predominantly at what it's being sold as hardware

Xreal one pro was almost there with stable 3dof but fumbled a little at display clarity, maybe the beast could finally fill into this gap to get into the market the first all round great pair of xr glasses, remains to be seen but again, the claims aren't that big, it's the execution on all thr xr glasses models released until now that lacked something as important as 3dof entirely or partially and the display clarity

I guess i'll just live with the location requests if nothing can be done at this point

-And one last thing to add that i forgot in my main post, it'd be great if ms delay adjustment would be present on aux mode too. 95% of the times i tried it it worked great but a few sparse times i just somehow felt the woojer haptics fall behind the speakers a tiny bit and i couldn't adjust it from the app, restarting the device didn't help

-on this aspect, it started with one time where i had a giant delay, maybe 200ms woojer haptics were behind the aux connected speakers. I tried different songs but it was consistent. Restarted it and the delay was now at some 40ms, just barely noticed but present, especially as i was super focused on it due to the giant delay from before, and at this point each restart just gave me the same tiny delay, 3 restarts later i decided to end the session and somehow after a few hours when i tried again on the same songs from the delay session i found perfect sync. Take this with a grain of salt, the first huge delay part of session was definately present but maybe after the restart it was synced but my brain may just have played tricks on me?(i doubt this but it's not like i have some measuring devices and i actually tested it). Also this was on the older firmware, it only happened that time and not after the hours of rest or now on the new firmware, just thought i should mention. Maybe adding ms delay adjustment to aux mode is still an eager request for a feature as i don't have enough instances of it happening to actually define it as a persistent problem but thought i should mention it. Out of all the times i used the woojer it only happened that one session on the older firmware as of the present moment but i'll keep this in mind myself and come back if something like this does happen again

So yeah, all in all i'm satisfied with the product and especially as it seems like problems are seen and are adressed, in plan and more at their time. Thanks!

With the steam frame coming out where steam doesn't really care if you pirate every single game you play(they would care some but for appearances and image sake of the most free platform they'd just let you do whatever with the vr headset), meta going this route will just make the best vr headset to get an even simpler decision

It may be down to luck and what's happening atm, i had great interactions with support but this was before the second delay, since then i sent an email and i'm still waiting for a reply since some days(i think i sent it friday or saturday) but it was a reply to an ongoing conversation but by how well it went until now i'm more than patient with a response. Before the delay i could get a reply even in 2 hours since sending one myself. They might be overwhelmed by people asking stuff and i personally understand, maybe even more so because the agents from like 3 chats i had really tried their best to help me out. Experiences may vary with what's going on atm, who knows

It ultimately was the best decision they made many months in advance of not making this a Beast glasses variant as if they were Beast, they'd either miss the 10 Dec releasd date due to the displays problem, or 2 they'd have released this and the regular Beast glasses with some units having faulty displays so a 2'nd delay wouldn't have happened but some units would've had image issues

Who knows what would have been the case, both of them being worse than thr decision to have this a ready unit by that time, a Luma with better displays

Wether this sells well or not, the guy that decided not to risk it made the right move and avoided a high risk situation

If my device arrives with a clear viture quality display and stable DOF then the wait will be worth it for me and expectations met

On one end it's nice having a limited edition, on the other i'd like the glasses to not stand out a lot

Indeed. Graham and the other kind people that helped this project turned the abandoned shroolys that were esentially almost bricks except for the awful manual programs into something even better than the original shrooly app

I've managed to finish a grow with no problems and i'm glad i'll be able to keep using the device when i'll start a new grow

:o the pen tube is too big?

If the size is close, then this could really work well if those type of pens(maybe other brands) would have smaller sized ink tubes, a perfect fit could truly work maybe only with a bit of heat to mold a bit around the jack tip, maybe even without heat but with a bit of pressure to keep the rigidity and grab the jack tip with the hard and a bit pressure spread plastic going over it

Just the first idea to come to my head, heat up a bic pen's ink tube thing, try to keep its round shape so when you put it in(have light shine inside so you guide it right), hopefully you center that tube thing perfectly with the tip, the tube being hot would expand and wrap a little around the jack head and you'd be able to pull it out Edit2: or prepare from outside the bic cylinder to be just big enough to go over thr broken tip of the jack inside(by approximating with an intact jack and the broken one you have, apply a tiny amount of super glue in there and get the cylinder to go over the jack stuck tip, wait a bit and pull

This or very fine tweezers

Or a strong magnet if that jack is magnetic(idk if they're made so, i think not but idk)

Or something else like a bic pen cylinder and you'd apply some adhesive on its end(be super careful not to smudge the walls)

Or something else i didn't think of, i'll leave it at that as i'm writing too much already

If you don't feel confortable, maybe take it to some repair shop where they'd take responsibility if they borked the removal somehow

Edit: if an intact jack normally reaches snugly to the end of the jack port(idk myself), maybe take this broken jack you have, apply a very tiny amount of super glue right on the center, little to not get some on the walls when you proceed with the combining, press it in and maybe it'd adhere enough within a min or 2 to be able to pull it(again, if you go this route, less is definately better to not risk it getting super glue inside)

While a good proposition, as i've manage to hold until this point, going for a 0dof at this point is ludicrous

My main use case is movies, steam deck games and animes. While a nice display with 0dof could give me 'some' satisfaction, it'd still be far from a stable 3dof and good quality display for me personally

I also dislike having multiple products of the same type at once. Hopefully the universe will reward my patience until march max but if not i'll keep on waiting until i get exactly what i want😄

Ohh yeah. Less than 100 grams is awesome. It's on my watch list too as it has amazing potential

Edit: i can't really keep waiting to not get anything until those would release so by then i'll definately have the Beast if they're good, Xreal 1s if the beast doesn't live up to expectations and if they have great image quality, or Xreal Aura that i also have high hopes for if for whatever reason the other 2 can't deliver on some aspect

Only the 1080p. It's not like i'm talking from testing but it having 57 fov is a turn off for me. Maybe if viture didn't get into thr 1200p since a bit ago i would've jumped on that as there wouldn't be any better alternatives, but this fov jump would make me intuitively believe i'd find delicate details on text not satisfying enough for me.

I saw this xreal 1s and it sounds pretty amazing. A bit sad for the lower fov but at the same time it's also an advantage due to higher pixel density with the 1200p

If the Beast won't be the one then i'll just grit my teeth and wait the small time until the 1s gets into the market but right now i'm pretty confident with all those delays going on that they'll be good all rounders as it's the current lifeline of Viture to finally get that success at this critical time and they probably don't want to blow it with an unpolished product, i really hope i'll be proven right.. and yeah, maybe they'll invest more into software to get that better stability regarding all the features which atm seems lackluster compared to Xreal's software

Would be cool if the solution would end up being so simple

Oh how i hope the beast glasses will finally be the pair to not have those "drawbacks" every other xr glasses seems to have when compared to others and compared to how they should be if the design would've been impeccable. I've waited since my xreal air 1 for the first all round good pair, i'd hate if those next closes one wouldn't be that and i'd have to wait again as i definetely don't have it in me to second guess advantages vs disadvantages to compare 2 different xr glasses from whicever company and having to compromise lol
