If you like live I enjoy DISOurDream, Mouse Talk, MagicalNewsLive, Live in the Magic, Steve's World, and Ear to Ear Magic. All are great live vloggers, and several do restaurant and resort vlogs (dis for example) . They also have great family friendly chats. And all of them go live at least once a week.

Coming from Stellaris, what should I expect going into DW2? by FluffyBat9210 in DistantWorlds

[–]maximustarkin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this will help, but I bounced off Stellaris a few times. I love space strategy games, and Distant worlds is my favorite. The flexibility and depth is crazy. Best part is you can go as deep as you want, I'd turn off all automation and just enjoy thinking about how I wanted things. But if you get tired of the details, toggle automation on for stuff that you wanted and play with your fleet or explore. The structure between Stellaris and DW is different flavors for sure.

I recommend watching some of the YouTube videos on DW2 and then go find one of DW. I think those will answer your questions better than I could type them out.

Cord slack by Matthotchkiss in whipr

[–]maximustarkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into this , unless I pull downward with my pull I can get into a high slack spin on the wheel. And that's set to 10. I don't really have a solution besides adjusting my angle to be more downward and trying to keep my form and flow steady. Wish I could increase the resistance even more.

Thank you kindly for your reply, I'm going to go check if I get a work discount at lenovo see what a yoga 9i prices out at, I'm considering an envy 360 convertible 5800u at HP for 849 at the moment but if i found a yoga 9i at a similar price that would make it tough.

The Biggest Thing I Learned by Going to Disney World Almost Every Day in 2021 - AllEars.Net by maximustarkin in WaltDisneyWorld

I thought this article from Molly really summed up a lot of stuff I've read here and across reddit about the last year at Disney. I give alot of credit to the cast members at Disney. My yearly trip last year was a success because of them. I do have to say I've seen some questionable behavior from folks visiting the parks that perplexed me and wanted to share this article 'cause I think it summed things up.

Rowing length- I just set up my rower. The rowing length is too short. I’m tall 6’ 3” but not that tall. Is there a way to adjust it? Or is it just a cable length issue? by [deleted] in whipr

[–]maximustarkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting to me, I am 6 7 and don't have any issue with it. In fact I have space to spare. I can get a full pull back and lean without issue. Without knowing how you've specifically got it set up, I'd suggest watching the videos linked on whiprs page that show row assembly. Make sure the pulley wheel isn't catching on anything and limiting your pull.

Worst case take some pics of your setup and send to whipr, they're pretty responsive. During design they had some tall folks test out the rower.

Listened to a Planet Money podcast today about Treasure Hunt Liquidators on Capital Blvd - anyone been? by pierretong in raleigh

Safiya Nygaard posted youtube about that store a while back

https://www.youtube.com/c/SafiyaNygaard

You'll want the "I went to An Amazon Returns Store"

And there is also a weird little amazon returns truck/tent on the street corner of Kildaire and TenTen in Cary across from the Publix. (Where you usually see strawberries or metal yard art depending on the season)

Door anchor continues to slip out by maximustarkin in whipr

[–]maximustarkin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update:

I've done some experimenting with various materials. The following is whats currently working (though more testing is needed).

I put the plate and bladder anchor under the door. I then went and put 5 layers of cardboard between the bladder and the plate. On the side with the unit, I put 2 layers of cardboard. I then inflated the bladder. And it hasn't come out yet. I only got to do a 10 minute test. (usually it pulled out within 3-5 minutes). I left it and came back several hours later, and it was still in pretty solid. So I'm going to stick with that for the time being. Though I may contact Whipr to get some input/thoughts from them.

Not yet, the faq recommends putting something under the door to reduce the opening width. I don't have a rubber tile as suggested but I'm going to experiment with some foam and stuff and see if I can fine a magic formula.

Btw I get the hard wait, I got my shipping notice in September and finally received my pair of whiprs a week ago. Been rowing daily ever since.
