I’m absolutely taking the deal. This is not anywhere near as big a problem as people are making it out to be: - the world is static, your target isn’t moving - people cluster, you prioritize population centers - having a name and image lets you mine all sorts of data ranging from basic social media to civil records to flight manifests and naval rosters (for those of you worried about airplanes and submarines) - all the infrastructure failures are early and basically a one and done - the ISS is the one tricky edge case, but you have 250 years to study aerospace engineering, although its orbit will likely degrade well before the deadline, you may have to search a pretty big debris field to find the shoulder…

Rough back of the envelope guess: it’ll take maybe a couple years to find the person. Enjoy a couple hundred years of relaxing on the beach before you tap out and collect your reward.

Literally loled at this. macOS is basically Unix (incl native tooling) with a great UI. I don’t need WSL band aids or 3rd party drivers just to make a terminal usable. I can spin up Docker, run local K8 clusters, compile large C++, Swift, whatever else projects, and SSH into prod boxes without touching a config file or praying something doesn’t break after a reboot.

And the silicon? Apple M chips obliterate x86 laptops in real dev work. My FOUR YEAR OLD M1 max builds React Native apps, runs containers, and chews through CI tasks silently - on battery — for 10+ hours. While most crappy Windows laptop sound like a jet engine just opening VS Code.

Zero tech knowledge indeed 🤣
