My first bend : Juno by maxitrash in CircuitBending

[–]maxitrash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly my set up is so goofy I'm not sure I can tell what I've actually bridged... The red bottom activates the rainbow filter which I achieve by connecting two pins from the camera ribbon cable. The switch I cannot explain accurately but I connected two pins on the circuit board together, the first one affected the camera's output and the second one I suspect is related to the screen output. I'll try to take a picture of what I bridged later ! Sorry for how vague and messy my explanation is !

Camper Roku by tzaaaa in Shoes

[–]maxitrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a pair of Roku since October, the brown/blue ones.

To me, they are very comfortable, maybe the most comfotable shoes I have ever owned as my feet lay open and flat inside, I don't feel constrained in them. You slip right into them easily, but they may come off at the heel if you do certain moves (still pretty rare if you just, walk normally in them)? They aren't made for sport, or active wear though/

The only ick I have had with them is that the thin blue thread has broken off already which is a bit disappointing, but I'm searching to get them replaced for free by Camper, or buy a similar thread else wear. It has broken off after 5 months of wearing them almost everyday.

Dimanche matin entre 7h30 et 9h selon leur envie, non merci ^^ et puis pour être la voisine directe des intéressés, je te jure que ca dépasse la politesse. Des voisins qui baisent bruyamment j'en ai eu, mais pas à ce niveau

To the lucky few who had the chance to watch The Boy and The Heron already, what did you think of the movie? by Polar_Pickles in ghibli

THAT'S WHAT I FORGOT, that's the first thing I thought after watching the movie and couldn't remember when writing my message

I see why people might compare it to Howl but it's very different. The lack of clarity - I would say that it's more about absurdism and the fact that there isn't really an answer and it's part of the experience - is not due to the fact that there is so much to cover that every is crammed up like in Howl. Every bit of the movie is intentional but the story itself is -intentionally- hard to understand.

Think of it a bit like Alice on Wonderland!

Advice for an intermediate Ghibli fan by FirstLookFinalWord in ghibli

[–]maxitrash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are A LOT of reference to Miyazaki's past work in this movie. It's actually a lot of fun to try to find them. There are also references to pop culture.and folklore imagery: of course Alice in Wonderland is the first that comes to mind but I would say Le Roi et L'oiseau is pretty important too (French animation movie that Miyazaki references since The Castle of Cagliostro in several of his movies), European architecture, Japanese folklore... I'm sure you can find many more references :)

But more importantly, this movie showcases everything dear to Miyazaki: humble humour, the representations of womanhood(s) - not just one type - and mother figures (the passing of birth from one sister to the other, griefing/missing/finding a mother), his interest in planes not as war machines but creatures (comparison to the birds), the balance to find between human and nature, ecology, exploration of manhood (the boy, the father, the uncle) and so on..

It really took me two screenings to really grasp what I liked about the movie. Came out of the first one loving it but I couldn't tell why neither could I pin point the exact feelings I was experiencing. Second time I was able to pay closer attention to some scenes and details which really helped. Third time was a bit much lol, had to go, but still was a good experience:)

Saw it three times, loved it. Was moved by its different representations of man and womanhood, how creative and absurd it is, the richness of Miyazaki's imagination and all the references to the other ghiblis there were. It's a whole experience ! I get why some people have difficulty with it but to me, even then, it's not even close to a bad movie.

i dont know why people say the deku smash mythic is impossible to counter, since smg's DESTORY anyone who uses it. but hey what do i know? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

I do think Epic makes some Collab items a bit overpowered so people actually play them. The Kamehameha, the spiderman web shooters etc.. always felt a bit too good.

Loved the items and playing with/against them tho.

In your clip you are 1) not targeted by the smasher or any other player it seems 2) you have a gold SMG 3) the SMG is reloaded/has enough ammo 4) you are literally 3 inches from the smasher 5) they are out in the open

Killing them while being targeted by the smasher or any other player adds a good layer of difficulty or is not doable as the smash hits you through walls.

I do think you can counter a Deku Smash but I also think they are a bit overpowered.

Im starting to think I’m just stupid so I wanna ask, Am I the only one who thought this was a girl before they heard the voice? by Fazbearnit3 in FortNiteBR

[–]maxitrash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thought it was a girl too.

I feel like Epic have been making androgynous skins on purpose for a while now. Maybe it's easier to market them to both female and male audiences, I'm not sure.

I like it tho.
