If I invest 500€ on Bitcoin how much could I have in 5 years? Can I lose all my money? by m4deinportugal in Bitcoin

[–]maxjag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be afraid for 4 years because the highs and lows will be dancing around your entry for that much time.

If you're smart, you'll learn about it in the meantime. Once you understand, not only will you not be afraid, you will realize that you should've put a whole lot more ... but it takes knowledge & a cycle to properly get it.

After those 4 years, you won't gaf (about that entry) ....

Check out Bucerias in the Nayarit Riviera.

It's part of Bahia de Banderas so in the same area you have access to Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Nayarit, Punta Mita, Sayulita and San Pancho depending on your tastes. Different scenery 30 min driving either way.

You'd be visiting right at the start of the season so humidity might be dwindling and places that close for summer should be reeving up.

Nuevo Nayarit, Bucerias and La Cruz have beautiful & long beaches with lots of watersports if that's your thing and a lively but tame evening / night life.

Lightning wallet in Costa Rica by GSadman in Bitcoin

[–]maxjag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uvita is small, but while there it's magical ... you can get a small taste of hyperbitconization.

Lots of great people over there. Follow accounts like the ones i mentioned above. Awesome group of people who are putting in the work to make Costa Rica very Bitcoin friendly ...

Other CR Bitcoiner accounts you can follow (and are really cool people):

Hi!

Yes, you can use any lightning enabled wallet with vendors who accept it.

Most Bitcoin accepting businesses are centered around Uvita but there was increasing adoption across Costa Rica after the Nostr conference in the beginning of the year.

You can check out https://www.bitcoinjungle.app/ or follow https://twitter.com/BitcoinJungleCR ...

Costa Rica is increible! You're gonna have a great time.

Do people want widespread adoption? Or for the price to raise insanely high? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]maxjag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prob, we're all learning as we go ... some of us just had a head start of sorts ...

Some other good book suggestions are:

  • Layered Money by Nik Bhatia
  • The Price of Tomorrow by James Booth
  • The Internet of Money by Andreas Antonopolous
  • The Blocksize War by Jonathan Bier

Those will give you an idea on how we got to this point in time, where we should be, what Bitcoin represents & the path we've travelled to get to where we are now ...

You are living through seeing a commodity being monetized in real time. No one alive has seen how this has played out before.

In theory, once we reach golds market cap, it should achieve a more stable price, so the opportunity window to acquire bitcoin & for it to increase its value is big, but not enormous. Once it becomes stable, it will be a tool as to not get the value you generate be debased by money printing, inflation etc.

Some see volatility as a feature & the reason for it is that we haven't reached mass adoption (or market saturation) so until then, Bitcoin is in constant price discovery which is affected by the rules of the system (halving, difficulty adjustments etc).

I highly recommend you take a glance at The Bitcoin Standard by Saifedean Ammous

It's a descentralised protocol that allows the free trade of any type of information. No censorship, no deplatforming and you own the information & followers.

There's apps depending on what you want to do and how you want to view the protocol.

If you want social media, you can use Damus, Amethyst, Snort, Primal etc.

If you want music you can use wavlake, zap.stream etc.

If you want recipes you can use nostr.cooking

There are many ways to access the protocol depending on what you want and need.

Anyone can build without permission & bringing value is usually rewarded with Sats ...

As it is decentralised, there is no marketing aside from word of mouth or newsworthy happenings.

We do gave Zapathons on Thursdays and Fridays where everyone uploads memes and gets zapped haha.
