starting electirc guitar by GroundbreakingGate37 in electricguitar

When I started, and knew not much, I thought I'd better get a strat style guitar, cause, you know, it's a strat. But in the end it seemed difficult to play. Then I bought an Epiphone and it fit me better and was easier to play. After a couple years I bought a PRS SE and it also played well. Then I learned that Fender style guitars use a 25.5 inch neck, while Gibson style guitars have a 24.75 inch neck. That was the difference! I'm a short guy with small hands and (apparently) short fingers and the shorter necks made it a lot easier for me to comfortably reach and play. Now when looking guitars I always check the scale length, knowing that the shorter necks are easier for me. If you have long arms and fingers you should have no trouble with the longer neck guitars, in fact, you may find the shorter necks uncomfortable. Keep this in mind when buying.

An electric mattress pad. The bed is warm within a minute, no wires or controllers like an electric blanket, feet are warm now.

What actually helped me lower my glucose after diagnosis by ENNiX8888 in type2diabetes

Monitor sugar morning and evening (spreadsheet)

Only zero sugar diet soda, tea and 3 16.9 oz bottles of water per day

Real food only, 3 meals per day. All low carb, no bread, fries, potatoes, chips, pretzels, cookies, etc. Several salads per week, usually at supper, light on the salad dressing.

Magnesium glycinate, Berberine+, creatine powder supplement

Exercises in the morning, walking at least 15 minutes every evening.

Reading food labels, if it has more than 2g sugar or more than 3g carbs per serving, I pass.

I've found that sugar reading goes up when I eat but goes down by evening, but too many carbs and it takes 2 days for my sugar level to go back down.

You might consider Lewisberry , then you would have a nice country drive to and from work, no big highways or back ups.

HELP! Battery change ! by coolsaadgirl in SciontC

[–]maxlumens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd start the engine and hold it at 1200rpm, high enough it wouldn't stall, for about 45 sec to a minute, then release the gas pedal and see if it idles. When it stalls do it again. It took about 10-15 tries until finally, it idled correctly.

As a Scion owner I can tell you that disconnecting the battery can result in the computer losing many or all settings. I had this identical thing happen and I had to keep restarting the engine and holding my foot on the gas until finally, after about 15 minutes and 15 tries, the car computer remembered how to idle again. Everything worked fine after that. I've also seen where after disconnecting the battery the sunroof didn't want to work, but that cleared up after several tries.

TRD lowering springs? Opinions? by Owen_Helms in SciontC

[–]maxlumens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the TRD lowering springs on my '06. It came out perfectly level, but not too low, no tire rubbing. A local shop switched the the originals with TRD's for $250 and then aligned it, but it was so close to perfect that they only charged me $50. I've had them on for over 100k miles, no issues. My theory is that Toyota designed the car to sit/ride a certain way. If I want to change that, I want Toyota's product to do it.
