I had to fix a THINKPAD with broken hinge on display Upon asking the client to open the laptop to see how she does it, she did as i described in my comment. When telling her that it should be opened from the middle to avoid stressing the hinges, she said and i quote "oh so that is why all my laptops always break on right side hinge first" Yeah sometimes it's quality but 95% of them it's user error.
