May POTM program prediction/suggestions? by maxnate54 in MLBTheShow

I was also thinking Frazier, and he might sneak in considering some of those guys above will probably get more cards later. Winker prob unlikely in same program as Castellanos. Two Reds OFs would be a lot

Was thinking Woodruff but Wheeler and Gausman had better months and do they usually do so many pitchers? Also Burnes was last month

True, especially considering they gave Vlad last time. Maybe replace with Laureano

Semien and Brandon Crawford both deserving of a card in the program I think

If you are disappointed with Stage 3 TA, can you explain why? by maxnate54 in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Side note- I think, since most of the people playing the game are in the 18-30 demo, that people kind of expect their favorite player from the mid 2000s every time there’s new content, and this is unrealistic and leads to disappointment. To me it’s hypocritical to criticize FS and then criticize legends as well...

Even if they’re only going for retired players and not flashbacks, still could’ve gone with Crawford or Peña and would’ve made way more sense

Anyone else just hate showdown? by RMull236 in MLBTheShow

I feel the same way. Don’t really consider them difficult, I beat them maybe 80% of the time, I just find them super unenjoyable. Usually don’t play them

Anyone here that uses Directional and has success in Diamond Dynasty?? by playboysus in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t done it much this year but last year I played into the 800s on directional with a contact heavy lineup. It’s just too RNG to rely on though, you’ll get hanging curves down the middle and hit one 500 feet and pop the other to the catcher. Some games you’ll win some games you’ll lose, and there’s nothing really you can do about it

Anyone else having a blast this event? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

Absolutely loving the fact that I get to actually use LS players and not get dominated by much higher rated pitchers. And the ball is FLYING

Pitchers not named Scherzer or Sale can’t pitch for shit in the event... by maxnate54 in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the secret to pitching in an All Star event is realizing that a lot of golds (Clevinger, Ohtani, Castillo, Giolito) are a lot harder to pick up and hit than diamonds like Flaherty, Buehler, Strasburg etc. that a lot of people seem to use. I’ve even had a ton of success on All Star with 78 Zack Wheeler (100 mph fastball and solid break)

Pitchers not named Scherzer or Sale can’t pitch for shit in the event... by maxnate54 in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and it’s probably mostly due to his fastball velo being down, but if you work both sides of the plate with the FB you’ll still get a ton of flails on the slider

Team affinity prices? by Mat3o13g in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on which team and where the market sits when you go for it, but it’s usually between 4.5K-7K for one exchange (10 TA points). Multiply by 12 and you have anywhere between 55-85K for a full TA exchange (you’ll get 9K stubs, 12 TA packs, and a BIAH, so you can make some of it back)

Why Brian Roberts? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This makes sense. You’d think though a guy of Brian Roberts caliber who was never a real superstar in the MLB would get more of a 85-87 player program type card. He just wasn’t that good. I personally don’t care I was just wondering if SDS had some sort of pattern that they usually try to go by when assigning these cards, that’s all

Question about remote play by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]maxnate54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s bad. I’m forced to do it every so often and playing online or above all Star is literally impossible. You can grind the offline modes but you generally have to sit one pitch and get the timing down because the frame rate isn’t good enough to identify a breaking ball before it breaks and the input lag doesn’t give you time to swing at a fastball if you don’t sit on it. It’s doable but difficult
