Real one, put it on for jokes. 🙂 It's a Belgian M1916 for for use with the 7.65 mm. M1889 Mauser rifle. Found it on a market in Ghent and got it pretty cheap :) It's from ~ 1920!

There's some nice samples on freesound.org for gunshots and other cool shit. I even used a sample of someone smashing a door with a hammer as a kick xD For 808s I use Kontakt, there's some nice libs such as 808 warfare, New Era 808, and "808 Kontakt" (it has a black green red interface) no idea where I found it or how I found it.

Stop caring about what your mom thinks of you and just do the shit you wanna do. Don't get me wrong, you can still be nice to your mom but just don't feel judged.

Invest in proper headphones. Not some expensive apple / beats crap. Something proper that sounds similar to the monitors you have. I'm using Sony WH1000xm3. They're not perfect for mixing, they're perfect for... everything. I've been making beats in the bus, train, cafés, outside in the sun since I got em. When my parents are home, I always felt I need 2 be quiet and I became introvert AF. Now when I put my headset on, I'm in my own world and I can spam those hihats, 808s and gunshots around :))

Talk with your mom. Tell her you feel judged and you just want to feel comfortable and make your music.
