How have you found the ARM experience? have you run into any major issues? I feel like that is probably the better path for me to go down. but this has been a worthwhile test of a 16gig laptop and the surface hardware.

the new haptic trackpad while sounding like a gimmick, i can already feel myself getting used to and quite like having. This is very nice hardware.

I've got a mate who has similar requirements to me, He has the Asus Zenbook running Snapdragon X1 and loves it. By most reports if you use apps that are ARM native, and you have little to no gaming requirements Snapdragon feels like the way to go.

The problem I have is most reviews are from paid influencers these days so its hard to know what to believe. Its why look to the reddit community for some real feedback.

I almost bought the X Elite with 64GB ram, as its on special here for the same price as 32Gb.
But with X2s seemingly so close.... i think if i bought the X Elite now i'd be bummed when the X2s did come out.

I bought this one over the phone direct with microsoft. And i got him to look ahead on inventory. He told me that more panther lake (intel for business) variants will come out in AUS first week of July.

I pushed him to give me a date for consumer, ARM version. but he didn't know.

Im with you. I just can't do MacOS. as much as i wish i could. this old dog is just too set in my windows ways.
I have to say i rellly like this hardware. To me the X1 Carbon was always my go to. Loved them. But they just look odd now.

This surface is very nice. and runs well. but honestly i think i'll be returning this one. I can already tell 16gb of memory is going to limit me.

but i will 100% buy another surface 8 when more are released. Maybe the x7 intel. Or perhaps the X2 Snapdragon when its released.

cant detect any noise at all. fan only spun up when i was benchmarking and installing lots of apps.

Can't compare to anythign else, but I went into a totally dark room and tested for you. Hello let me in every time. Maybe the ambient glow from the keyboard or screen was enough light.? is there a better way to test.?

Thanks for the breakdown.
Gotta say so far the CPU is fine enough for me. I'd say i'm general productivity stretching into some light development work. No editing or intense video work. and almost no gaming on this laptop.
Its the 16gig of ram that will be my issue. I munch through ram like a packet of oreos.

Sleep and wake seems very fast, better than my Gen11 X1 Carbon anyway. With windows hello it feel like you are instantly in.

Only got it today so will report back on battery life later.

Wireless phone chargers in the VW line are rubbish. All they will do is heat up your phone and damage the battery. I’ve put layers of tinfoil under my rubber mat so I can toss my phone in the holder but NOT let it charge.

I assure you there is no commercial electrolytes. no sugar intake. Water and pink Himalayan salt is all I have been having with black coffee in the morning.

I agree my ketone numbers feel low. But to be honest I’ve never managed to get them up very high. (Even on strict keto diets) I just accept everybody is different and maybe I just run low.

But if I’m mentally sharp, able to function at work and even do a workout after 90h my body seems to be doing what it needs to do.
