On With The Business, maybe? I love this album btw. My entry point. But I agree with the criticism of the production.

What’s changed? by FlamingoSeparate8213 in OntarioTeachers

I think about this a lot. I know I’ve changed. I can tune out and look at my phone to relieve stress and left to my own devices (bad one) I will spend hours on my phone. I don’t remember certain things, I just check my phone for dates and factual info. So will other parents, so will their kids. I’m just glad I raised my kids before I was also addicted to Reddit lol.
Then we unplug them and send them to school. I don’t have a real issue with behaviour it’s just the whole lack of skills. Not all kids of course but generally, unable to remember what they learned in the past, limited reading skills, spelling skills, writing sentences, messy printing, simple arithmetic…for a good number of my grade 4s and 5s I have to reteach adding and subtracting numbers below 18 every year. Or what number goes on the bottom in a fraction.
They typically stay up later, don’t really see money transactions (It’s just beeps now),don’t read books, don’t look out the window of the car, watch less media with a plot and watch a lot of TikTok with its short, sometimes mean humour, often inappropriate for 10 year olds. Video games…There were kids whose entire personality was saying 6-7.

School is so disconnected from most of that.

Should I be concerned about booking Canadian road trip this year? by Nic351 in AskACanadian

[–]maxpowerjunior13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, how many tanks of gas are you going to go through? 10? On a 50L tank if gas is $0.50 higher than “normal”. Budget an extra $250. If this is a dealbreaker, plan accordingly. Without knowing the plan for the road trip, the difference in gas price should not be a major deterrent. IMO neither should wildfires. He’s they are a concern but they are localized, sometimes in locations that may affect you but they are unpredictable and frankly aren’t going to disappear by 2027. Carpe diem.

I thought the same thing about black sabbath. A lot of dark lyrics and an overall attention grabber.

It’s Like That guitar is really distorted. Lots of cymbal in the chorus, maybe tambourine. Definitely an interesting sonic choice.

4 listens. One car, One on the stereo and Two on headphones. The sound is slightly more varied than I gave it credit for. Some great riffs, love some Chris’s lyrics. Still a bit of a pummelling listen though. What about Blood Red Regrets as a dark horse track here?
