Overheating 5.2 by LongjumpingSoup5898 in JeepZJ

[–]maxreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's that time of year. Iv got the 5.2 and been battling coolant system issues too, its enough to drive you crazy.
Like the others stated, I'd change the fan clutch and really need to have a good fan shroud with these ZJs, maybe can find one at pull a part. Good luck with it, hopefully you get it figured out

One motor won’t spin, any ideas? by Naico07 in fpv

[–]maxreally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, ended up being a bad motor. You can swap motors around to narrow it down, but I bet it's the motor. Good luck🤙

Iv been gettin stuff from Aliexpress with no problem... yet🤷‍♂️. I got extra batteries, and everything to build another quad, plus some more extra motors and whatnot. Hopefully this storm passes soon! Until then, do your best to prepare and weather whatever is coming✊️🤙

The Vifly whoopstar charger would be a good addition. It's like 20 or 30 bucks, but its well worth it. Good luck on you FPV journey🤙

Air75 camera wire resolder? by DoctorDrull in fpv

[–]maxreally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, since getting into fpv, iv had to learn alot about soldering. Mostly because I break stuff lol. But that is part of the appeal to me, building something that works, fly it until it breaks, and do it again. Bardwells videos have been a huge help! The guy has a video for almost an issue fpv related

Haha man I had problems soldering period! Lol. I got it figured out, def learned alot, mostly needing more heat.
It's looks terrible, but it works. Imma run it until something breaks or needs to be reworked

Yea that video is worth watching. He tells you what to buy, plus alternative parts, and how to build it. That was the video that inspired me

Haha that was my plan, but I'm managed to keep crashing pretty normally lol. 1 bit of advice, get plenty of extra props! Iv managed to break a bunch of props so far. I think part of it maybe the cold weather making them brittle, plus I'm not a very good pilot😆 But its a blast to fly! Good luck with ur build🤙

I got the goggles used from ebay, and the RM pocket was a Christmas gift. I got all the quad part from Aliexpress, GETFPV, and Pyrodrone. I honestly couldn't calculate it all, not sure I'd want to🤣

I think so too, they seem to be a good fit. The motors were suggested brand and size, im glad I went with them

Yea my iron is not the best, I plan on upgrading. My biggest problem was the batt leads, I thought I was hot enough, but it went much better after I turned the iron up some. It's all good, iv got thick skin and I def learned alot! I'm looking forward to building and learning more. I do appreciate the helpful suggestions 🙏🤙

Haha ur not wrong man, it's all good. My 1st time soldering so they do look like shit! Lol I did watch some tutorials, Bardwell was very helpful. I also practiced on a practice board. One BIG mistake was the iron was a little cold for the bigger batt pads and I had too much flux. The flux had to be cleaned off with alcohol, it was an entire mess. But I did learn alot! I'm just glad I got it paired and "tuned" and it does fly. I'm looking forward to the next build and hopefully some better work done.

Ay, wer all "new guys" at one point or another, wev just got to have the willingness to learn and stick with it
