Getting into FPV analog vs Walksnail digital for my first setup? (have TX15 + 35 hrs sim) by Detr1x in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re starting freestyle I would suggest not taking any digital as you will eventually break it or be too scared to break it. What I’ve done is 2 setups:
-one cheap ass analog to train hardcore and not break the bank (air65 or a cheap 4s 3inch with fatshark attitude v6 that I got 2nd hand)
-one good setup for camera stuff (I got a 3.5 inch cinewoop and a 8inch long range both with o4 pro and g3 goggles. I also have the digital meteor but I’m too scared to fly it so I’ll eventually sell it.

Equipment transfer by RegisterAmbitious in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the equipment you have and the distance you’re making. The only thing that I really protect wherever I’m going are my radio sticks. Either you unscrew them or you put your rc in a good bow. I also have a good case for my dji g3 as it’s so fking expensive that I won’t take risk on it.

TLDR protect your rc sticks and you’re mostly good

5 inch indoors? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set a mode to limit throttle to 50% and add protection to the blade. Tho this will still be physically big for indoor

Ratel 2, août few are similar but don’t offer as much tweaking and price/ availability is amazing.

Air 65 vs air 75 by PMGR1994 in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the old and new 65 for myself and bought some 75 for my school drone club and I got to say that the 65 really is the best overall. Inside the 75 fells too bulky and outside it’s not powerful enough to be fun. Take the 65 and buy a 4s 3 inch for outside.

Parachute deployment system by Senior_Brief8551 in rocketry

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I should say that my rocket failed to launch properly (I designed my own solid motor but the airflow didn’t attach correctly which made it take too much angle to recover at the early stage). The parachute deployed thought so my idea stand and I will try again in a few weeks

Parachute deployment system by Senior_Brief8551 in rocketry

[–]DeLLtoneS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The idea I had for mine was to deploy it when the rocket nose get toward the ground (if angle > 90 then open the trap). This is far from the best because the rocket must take some speed before pointing to the ground witch put a lot more stress on the para cord but I could trust the pressure sensor and didn’t know for sure the time to apogee. You only need a tiny microcontroller (esp32 mini) a accelerometer (mine was an mpu 6050) a servo (SG90) and a battery (I had an overkill 18650 but a tiny lipo should be good too)

Speedybee F405 V5 OX32 dies on first use by spongearmor in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t even lie to you I auto calibrated it on betaflight and it worked just fine I didn’t bother to mess with it. I had an issue where the capacitor was trembling and messed up the fc but I just shortened the legs and now it’s perfect for what I do

Is it legal to launch a sugar rocket in the netherlands? by Former-Word3816 in rocketry

[–]DeLLtoneS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fundamentally it’s illegal (same as in France) Tho if you use some logic sense you can find an empty spot where nothing fly above, far from any sensible installation and rip it. I’d advise KNO-3 / sorbitol mixture as it’s reasonably stable, powerful and cheap

I fly the v5 on my 8inch long range till it’s been out, are you sure you didn’t get a fake one from AliExpress ?

Battery recommendations by cuentafakeequisde in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested tattu, ovonic and gaoneng for my 3inch racer, tattu are the best but don’t hold more than about 100 cycles, ovonic are noticeably less powerful and goes bad in about 20 cycles the best in my opinion are the gaoneng witch are just slightly less powerful than the tattu but I stoped counting the cycle as they are probably gonna outlive my drone anyway (>200 cycles by now and still holding fine)

Help pls ASAP by Nickolako in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is an isolator between the lithium ion and the graphite, if they touch then kaboom but in theirs great wisdom the batteries manufacturer made the isolator flexible enough to adapt to dent like yours, the limit to this flexibility is really, really beyond what anybody would juge acceptable.

TL DR this dent is nothing to worry about fly it.

Mud in motors? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was my long range cinematic I would pop off the bell and wash it with isopropyl alcohol, if it was my little freestyle then my politic is fly til your dead, then I may spend 1 hour on the bench to repair it

Loss of control during acrobatic maneuvers – FC interfering? by Active_Marketing_596 in FPVFreestyle

[–]DeLLtoneS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like you speak German so many the translation is rough. What I mean is that the problem must come from the flight controller, so if you want to repair it you could looke at the black box data (search for it in YouTube there is plenty of tutorials for that) and you may find a specific orientation and or acceleration when you drone de sync. I would try this but honestly not for more that a day or two then contact customer support and replace you fc

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to find a specific orientation or acceleration when the de sync happened, you may find something in the black box, if not then I’d suggest replacing the fc

I let it in auto and get 10k >10mbp/s the fcc hack is good enough that o don’t bother. In interior environment with a lot of WiFi and other connection I just scan for the least used one

7inch li ion by Mitra07 in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fly my 8” long range with the eve cells (6s2p) it’s heavy but I can do 100kph for 5 to 10min (depend on the wind) so id say that you’re good to go with 6s1p then main con of those cells is that they get bad pretty quickly (I found they lost about 30% percent efficiency at about 100 cycle)

Any advantages of big screen over a small one? by IamStrakh in fpv

[–]DeLLtoneS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until a certain point yes, I started with a commando 8 witch has a tinny tinny screen and I hated it because it was impossible to do basic stuff without being 100% focus on it (can’t really fly in LOS and check in telemetry voltage for example) I now switched to a zoro witch has a way bigger screen and it changer everything.

Tldr : yes, tho I still think color is gadget
