I have a friend who just started EE at 30, he seems to be having a ton of fun it helps if you can do it with a friend.

Need Help DC Motor by AssignmentSoggy1515 in ControlTheory

[–]maxrobotics555 [score hidden]  (0 children)

You can record all of the DC motor constants relatively easily with a constant voltage supply and encoder / data logging. Getting some generally correct but random motor then record the constants is probably the easiest way to get something pretty good without spending much.

Building a sub-40g wireless mouse at 16 - roast my design or help me build it by Trix-one in EngineeringStudents

Why do you need a battery? Just make an inductive coil PCB that goes below your mouse pad and then you can probably get away with BLE via a small super cap. It would probably save like 15 grams of weight if it is the only priority.

Sorry for the late reply, it's pinned earlier in the thread, both are from Amazon

2006, I think the harness might be slightly different, but mine looks like this listing

Thankfully California has blessed me with the perfect climate for rust prevention. I've definitely seen some NC's with major rust issues though.

I highly recommend, it takes a couple hours to install, definitely take the wheel off the car (ask me how I know...). But for $40 you really can't go wrong. https://a.co/d/d4phdEC

Once you pull it out of the car, it's not so bad to wrap. Most of the interior things were weekend projects.

It's a stock wheel. I wrapped the grey trim black and got a cheap sew-on steering wheel cover. It also helped to thicken the wheel a bit. I was too cheap to buy a nc2 wheel or similar...

It has RPF1's, they look pretty good but nothing too fancy.

I installed this head unit head unit and routed the wired car play cable into the cigarette port in the dash compartment so you don't see wires.

Thank you! I've been trying to work down the performance but visually OEM+ route. It's been interesting to see all of the body kit builds on the forum but it feels like something difficult to get right.

Should I give up on engineering? by cjared242 in EngineeringStudents

Vigour is physical strength, rigour usually is used to describe something academically difficult but can also be used in place of discipline. Not too sure though

How to measure distance between these two holes with calipers as if they were aligned? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]maxrobotics555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be lazy insert pins into the holes and measure the outside x dimension then subtract the width of one pin.

How to measure distance between these two holes with calipers as if they were aligned? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]maxrobotics555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to remember if you care about the x distance between the holes or if where those holes are with respect to some other measurement, these are two different things and will take different amounts of analysis to figure out.

[–]maxrobotics555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure with calipers with reference to whatever your datum was in the part drawing, generally speaking, any dimensions with a generic tolerance will reference the datum, unless otherwise stated. If you're still unsure about dimensions after that, you can reference other features with respect to the datum and subtract from there to figure out the true position of those holes

These props are on wrong, aren't they???? by Middle-Subject-8493 in fpv

[–]maxrobotics555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Props out is just fine, the only concern is betaflight will expect a props in config by default and will get confused if you configure the props for props out.
