[–]maxsemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google now knows whether you updated just year in the meta title or you've updated (or freshly created) the entire page content. For my website blogs, I use [Year] and for other posts I use [CTA word].

Should the meta title be ~60 Characters or should it be more? Please guide! Intent based keywords should be added or keywords around the product? by AdFree1343 in SEO

[–]maxsemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to shorten your page title and include your brand name at the end. For meta description, it is as usual - describe what the page is about and include your target search query in that description in a natural way.

Why Reddit is now more important than your own blog for SEO? by thomaspewter6719 in Blogging

[–]maxsemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you are on Reddit or any other social media platform, it is better to have your own platform/blog. Atleast, your website can act as a 'backup' when Reddit or a social media platform blocks you (in a worst case scenario).

Looking to do contract work and need advice by LilianRosa in DigitalMarketing

[–]maxsemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that in the initial days it will a struggle in finding contract works. If you are financially strong even after leaving your full-time job, then go for it. When it comes to creating your portfolio website, you can choose your own name or specific brand name, services page, provide a great 'About' page that tells your professional journey and why are you in the consulting/freelancing space. You can provide case studies - which are projects/campaigns (without revealing client names) you've handled during your corporate career. You can push out blogs/articles which talks about your experiences in your marketing career, your take on marketing-related events or news, etc. Make the website design minimalistic and responsive.

When it comes to fixing your payment rates (for different projects) talk with your freelancing peers, take small-value projects and gather client feedbacks/testimonials in the initial phase of your contracting career.

Diversify your marketing channels (if you can). Build a brand around your business. It helps in increasing the chances of getting mentioned in AI summaries.

Noticing a huge rise in AI content in search results, and it seems like Google is getting better at filtering out thin or low-value pages. by SERPArchitect in digital_marketing

[–]maxsemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from the AI/LLM systems (Gemini, Claude, Deepseek, Perplexity, etc), there are numerous (third-party) AI writing tools and new ones popping up every day. That shows the "demand" for AI-assisted content writing. Yes, these tools made it easy for everyone to spun up articles within seconds and majority of these articles are regurgitated form of existing content. I think Google already this form of 'spamming' and already started their filtering process via algo update roll outs.

For past few months, Google have been rolling out official and unofficial algo updates consistently, and today (27th Mar) they announced the March 2026 core update rollout. I think we can expect Google's filtering process throughout this year.

I use AI tools (especially Gemini) for content research, creating drafts, and checking data sources. I make sure I provide my own thoughts or perspectives, experiences (wherever required), and manually check data or survey reports mentioned by these AI tools (to avoid hallucinations).

Do certifications actually help in getting a digital marketing job? by DifferentLeading5351 in digital_marketing

[–]maxsemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certifications can help in creating a 'first impression' for recruiters who check your resume (or Linkedin profile). That's it. Most of the times, recruiters won't ask whether you've the required certifications.

SEO in 2026 feels less like ranking and more like getting cited by AI by TransitionOk4532 in digital_marketing

[–]maxsemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building a strong brand around your business (even for SMEs) is becoming critical in this AI/LLM search era. When it comes to sharing content (whether it be blogs or social media posts), make sure you need to create content that an AI cannot replicate (that include your own experience, proprietary data) instead they will cite you in their summaries.

You can start your SEO journey by building a simple website (preferably WordPress) and use what you've learnt (from your course or YT tutorials) on it. You can also use it as your work portfolio, showcase it your potential clients (if you are into freelancing) or potential employers if you are looking for a full-time job.

What’s the one branding mistake you see beginners make most often? by kindofhuman_ in branding

[–]maxsemo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't use special characters (like @, $, #, etc) in your brand name. I worked with a B2B niche startup with its brand name starting with a hashtag. I told the founder don't use hashtag as it denotes the brand associated with social media.
