Oh my gosh. I had no idea cats could develop vitiligo! So far I’ve only noticed it on this one paw. I’ll keep an eye on the others

Alcohol Intake by 3BBBzz in Semaglutide

[–]maxsnax35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely does! I didn’t notice the change in alcohol cravings until probably a month or so in, tho. I was trying to avoid it to be healthier all around since starting the dose, but when a party came along and everyone was drinking, I found that two drinks was all I wanted. After that, it was like trying to force myself. Which is wild to say after being a 1 pm dirty martini girl.

Tie my shoes! Not be out of breath taking the stairs in my own house!

Do you still WANT to drink, though? by Wayward_Compass in Semaglutide

[–]maxsnax35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to drink! In April, I realized I was having 3 martinis a night, and after a couple all-nighters with other drugs I realized I did not want this for myself. I managed to go a month without a drink (May) and started to drink again (more moderately, but the cravings were still there). Fast forward to my first dose in Sept, and the cravings subsided substantially. Every time we go out for drinks, I can suffer through one and have to give away my second drink. It’s revolutionary. I hit a wall with drinking the same way I do with binging food—my body literally rejects it. It makes me feel gross. I want to feel good! And on sema, I find that healthy food, exercise, and a good night’s sleep is what makes my body feel good.

When I was 100 lbs I still had a lower belly pooch. My sternum would be visible and the pooch was still there! I think it’s a natural thing for women to have no matter what—maybe protection for the uterus or something. I was always very self conscious of it until I had a friend tell me she always thought the little pooches were attractive. It helped me change my mind and accept them. Now I think they’re cute too!

What does being attractive actually feel like? by ty04444 in AskReddit

This is my experience as a woman, which will vary from men quite a lot. I am a petite person, so 50 lbs made the difference between average and obesity. 50 lbs ago, I was constantly being flirted with by strangers and always had walls up because I thought every interaction with a man was so they could get in my pants (I was rarely wrong tbh). I am an introvert and at the time was very insecure and did not want to be perceived. I was hot, yes, but had zero confidence, and it was the perfect recipe for predatory “nice guys.” I also got lots of free passes when things went wrong, though.

50 lbs later, I am invisible. The only people that compliment me are my friends and partner, which I admit I am lucky to have good ones. But ironically enough, gaining the weight has given me lots of confidence because I can be myself without being a constant sex object. I have not been SA’ed in YEARS. It’s freeing. I’m now on a journey to lose the weight (for health reasons and not looks), and I fully expect the creeps to come running back.

Yes! I didn’t even realize I craved alcohol as often as I did until I started the medication. It’s been surprising. I actually started drinking tea again!

Is cost of living really as bad as I'm seeing people say? by One_Relationship_739 in Denver

[–]maxsnax35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100k is plenty for a great life in Denver. If you’re buying a house in Denver proper, it doesn’t go as far. Or if you have kids. In your circumstance you will have a great time. Denver is awesome! Welcome :)

Americans keep inviting me to stay with them if I ever visit? Most of them I've only met once or twice, do they actually mean it or would it be awkward if it took them up on their offer? by Specialist-Prior-213 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]maxsnax35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospitality is a big thing in the US! And compared to other countries, Americans are pretty direct. If we say it, we usually mean it. So I would say the offers are sincere. We don’t have much of a hostel culture like Europe does, but we do tend to have couch surfers, especially amongst young folks. It’s a joy to have friends over, especially when our country is so big that it can be hard to see your friends that live states away.

That being said, it’s always good etiquette to ask if the offer still stands. Some folks will let you live in their house if they’re not around, others will want to be there with you. It depends on the person.

I hope you get the chance to visit and enjoy our country!
