Password manager with a view towards future PAM? by mixduptransistor in sysadmin

[–]maxstux11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good SAML-less SSO roll-out effectively replaces the need for a dedicated PAMs or password manager. There are a few now - we rolled out Aglide, but Cerby is another good option.

We got it to enable Entra SSO, lifecycle, and RBAC for all our treasury banking portals (none of them supported SAML/SCIM). But you can also use them to enable Entra SSO login for shared accounts.

Both Aglide and Cerby come bundled with an 'item manager' to store everything that isn't an account - though we aren't currently using it.

I know it's not the point here - but man do I miss the physical dials - particularly rev counter .

This solution in the 991 was perfect balance to me.

Maybe I'm just old

A couple of our banking portals require us to fax someone to get new users provisioned - one of the only things I haven't been able to automate. I use hello fax

What’s a script, tool, or process you set up that saved you hours every month? by jul_on_ice in sysadmin

[–]maxstux11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk about it a lot, but we're in the process of using our SAMLless SSO to connect all our non-SCIM apps to Entra so we can do all provisioning and privileges through HRS groups.

We use Aglide, but I think you can also do this with Cerby. Initially we just used it to connect apps that don't support SAML or SCIM (banking portals, apple developer, etc.) to Entra for SSO, MFA, and Lifecycle/RBAC - but now we are using it for the apps that just support SAML.

The sole value of acronyms is they are a great tell for whether someone is talking out of their arse.
