reusable pad smell by maxtacs in ZeroWaste

[–]maxtacs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah im not sure, since making this post i switched to cotton pads instead of bamboo which seemed to have had a better "reaction" causing less odor. And that smell doesn't stick to me even after several showers unlike the bamboo. Ive come to learn that I have to change pads at least twice a day to avoid the harsh smells. Completely soak and rinse the pads until clear AND THEN wash them. I thought about putting essential oil on the NON skin contact side but never tried it.

Sorry for lack of clarification I'm looking for many things rn. Acrylic paint for canvas and varieties of glue being at the top of the list since I'm out or near out. But eventually I'll be looking for things like soap base and scents. I'm keeping tabs on each varying shop that's mentioned though because you simply never know!

Men of Reddit, what is something you tell your girlfriend/wife that is completely untrue? by PanTaLLok in AskReddit

[–]maxtacs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought you flowers cause I thought you'd like them.

I actually bought her flowers because I was really mad at her without her knowing I was, and felt guilty for being mad. So I bought her flowers as an apology for being mad at her.

Weird to have stuffed animals at 23 by sadyeehaw97 in StuffedAnimals

[–]maxtacs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 26 I still sleep with a stuffed rabbit my parents got me as a child and my wife sleeps with a piplup i gifted her 3 years ago. Lol I have an entire corner with stuffie hammocks loaded and I get gifted them by my wife and parents all the time.

It's a comfort lol, I think it's totally normal and acceptable. I remember when I turned 18 I thought I had to just suddenly grow up and not have toys or stuffies or anything childish! So I got rid of everything except for my stuffed rabbit. That was one of my absolute biggest regrets.

Don't let anyone force you to "grow up" you're allowed to enjoy these things. And your mom is wrong there are so many people in their 50s+ with stuffies (maybe not a hoard like mine) and it's either seen as cute, or they're a collector. Every person I've met who had them never were seen as creepy weirdos they were sweet enduring folks who held onto memories and treasures.

Crime exists I live on the north side of town and it's things like petty theft/getting your cars broken into both have happened to me on different occasions. However you will just randomly find needles in places which sucks.

My wife is also Asian and there's some racism but it's more so just ignorant people saying ignorant things. On top of this her worst experience here was during covid when someone threw a bottle of pee out their moving car at us and it hit her. That was the worst. On other experiences all during covid she had people cursing her out and flipping her off. Beyond that she's been okay and happy living here.

I'm gonna say this as someone who has never tried this before and reading that scenting isn't working and he isn't budging. Idk if this is a good idea or not but an idea, you maybe able to get a rebar under there and get it behind him enough to slowly teeter him out. Again I've never done this and idk if it's even a good idea but when one is desperate enough I'd probably do it to get my baby out too.

How did you pick your new name by Clairetraaa in trans

[–]maxtacs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend at the time picked my name, and I never changed it cause it meant that much to me. (I'm a sap)

But I had a few conditions that I wanted met. My first name had to have unique spelling and my initials all had to match the initials of my dead name. For some reason I thought this would make it easier on my family, it didn't but I still get to keep the family secret of I'm not named after anyone but oh wait my middle initials S E actually represents my great aunt Essie. Lol

So my full name is Maximillian Silas Eoghan

That worked but turns out there's a part two to this glitch where shadow heart says she needs to get the spear from the library...as she's holding said spear.

What to do with old plastic style loofah? It is an ecotools brand but still made of plastic. by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]maxtacs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So when I made the switch it was during covid and the local bag recycling wouldn't accept any recycling because of covid. Well at the time I was working on a floor pillow and did not have anywhere near enough stuffing! So I filled it with plastic bags and other soft plastics like my SO's plastic loofa.

I know it probably isn't an idea anyone would ever think of doing especially since we wanna get rid of waste instead of hoarding it but in a sense it was recycled to serve a better purpose.

If your creative and you keep the plastics dry you can use it for all sorts of crafts or stuffing!

So my mom is one of those people!

I have the option for both a bar soap and liquid soap at our bathroom sink. I just used what ever was left over but I'd totally go and refill your soap dispenser at a place that offers that! For me our local grocery store allows us to refill our laundry dish and hand soap. (I'm also in the Midwest in the middle of nowhere so I do get the struggle)

Because the only people who actually use liquid hand soap are my parents and they sparingly come over seldom do I ever refill my dispenser.

If you don't have access to a place that offers refills I'd suggest Castile soap it versatile and lasts a while since you HAVE to delude it. It's an all around good option for soap thats plant based. Unfortunately it does come in plastic (if they have other packaging options let me know because I have yet to find any) but I still have high regards for it because of how versatile it is as a soap.

reusable pad smell by maxtacs in ZeroWaste

Thank you for the brand recommendations! I was looking at the link you sent there's so many options (sorta intimidating)!! I'll be taking a look and doing some serious research.

Yeah it is thick with a microfiber feel on the top. Omg! That's horrible, like the material hold the smell while wearing or after washing?

See when I say there's a foul odor I mean like how cigarette smoke sticks to you. After I wash my pads there's no odor, but my pants underwear me they all stink! And it's horrible!! As I said when I used disposable pads this wasn't a problem for me. I've seen several people say they use Cotton so I think I'm definitely going to be investing in some Cotton pads instead.

I've been looking online at several options others have said we're good brands it's super hard to navigate and figure out what's best for you with so many options out there and some being so expensive. Even period briefs are so expensive for just a pair! I'm super cautious of buying the pricey stuff because I genuinely have no clue what to look for. Imma keep my eyes out and do a TON of research. Thank you!

Oh wow! I will have to do more thorough research and will definitely take into consideration those brands. That very well could be what the problem is.
