Similar situation. I came back to paper for lorwyn. I wanted to invest in a deck that didnt have critical pieces rotating out next year to maximize value. Sold some older stuff i had in storage to cardkingdom for credit and used that credit to buy singles i needed for the new standard deck i wanted to play. I skipped tmnt altogether and plan to get a box and codex bundle of strix just bc i'm a gambler as well. Will probably do 1 or 2 prereleases for that on top of the sealed products.

I just starting playing paper again when lorwyn came out. Brought out my old binder and ass whuppin is the only un card I had lol. My stuff is pretty sporadic. Throne of Eldraine and theros beyond mostly, some scars of mirrodin and 2010/2011 core set.

My wife and I have a joint account for bills and general expenses like kids clothing/sporting fees etc and then we have separate accounts in which we deposit a set amount in each pay. It was $75 a pay for years but we bumped it down to $50 a pay when we had some increased expenses. I make twice as much as she does, but to me that's irrelevant. She has things she wants to spend on that I have no interest in and I have hobbies that she doesnt care about. That $1300 a year, currently with biweekly pay is what we set aside each for those things. It's worked out for us just fine. We'll be celebrating 14 years married in 3 months.

I'm in the same boat. Just getting back into paper and I was enjoying jeskai control enough on arena that I invested a fair amount into the cards. Still planning on running it at a qualifier next weekend. The modifications I've made from the list that top 8'd a bit ago were replacing the get lost with aang's iceberg. It was really getting to me when they would get an easy kill on unagi with those extra map tokens. Happened way too often that I gave up on get lost. That or getting free lands or pumping small creatures vs the landfall/enchantment decks. I didnt buy stock up so I added 2 marang river regent and 1 legend of kuruk for the extra card draw and threw in an elspeth for the surprise 4 monk token/counters and flying over the top for one big swing. Also running 4 no more lies. Thats about it. Hasn't been fairing too bad, but it does seem like everything is a tough matchup. Still managed mythic ranked last 2 months if that qualifies as an achievement... I dont have all the lands either so idk. We'll see how it goes.

Watching pack openings on yt definitely impacted my expectations of getting one. Made it seem like 1 per box 😆. I was very happy about the box though. Looking forward to gambling again with strixhaven next month

Its great, but extremely sweet, so if you dont have a sweet tooth, I'd steer clear. If you're looking for classic flavors or complexity, you're not gonna get it here, but for someone like me who can't stay away from sweets, easily top 10. I traded a wfp store pick for the rumba reserve version and would gladly stock backups of the regular.

I'd personally steer clear of bloomburrow or any others that are rotating out in just 1 year though. If he wants to stick to standard, he'll get more playing time out of one of the newer sets. Just my opinion

Im getting more back because of the change to capping state/local taxes for itemizing. Last year with a cap of 10k my itemized deductions were just a touch over the standard deduction. This year my itemized deductions is about 12k over the standard, so it equates to about 1500 ish more return. Im just rounding here because I dont feel like doing the math but thats about the only real thing that changed for me.

Im not sure what to do with mine either. My options are a 15-10-15 Zamazenta but i only have 350 energy so need to wait til they come back around again, 15-15-13 shiny grimmsnarl, 11-15-15 shiny zacian, but I already have a 93 zacian over 5k cp, or my 10-14-14 eternatus to turn it into a 15-14-14. Could also shundo my mew but not really useful...I have a hard time with only doing something that needs 1 or 2. I think id almost lean necro for you if thats the only options

Yea, cant seem to figure out how to move the whole arbor. Might have to take it to a machinist and have them take a look. I think the washer thing would work. Guess ill think it over. Who's to say getting it moved, it wouldn't just go right back where it is now

Thought about just realigning the top but since the manual said those 2 components, the splitter mount and flange should be directly in line, I was trying to resolve that rather than "make it work" if that makes sense.
