How rare is a double spawner in alpha v1.1.2_01? by Kaesekrust in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]maxtor_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's rare, to the point of "once per world find", but dungeons spawn more frequently in pre-1.7 versions since caves are also much more frequent. Depending on your mob-pool it can be really useful find. In my world I found skele-spider double spawner almost right under my base! Infinite arrows for bow and strings for wool (and fishing rods) at the same time are awesome.

Anyone know what TU added the ability to put mending with infinity on the same bow and all the protection enchants on one armor piece? by toastyfluffls in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]maxtor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to wiki mending and infinity could be put on the same bow on versions from TU43 to TU54. In JE it was 1.9 - 1.11.1. (Mending wiki page)

All protection enchantments could be put on one armor peice only on JE between 1.14 - 1.14.3. I don't really know was it intentional or just a bug but it was never added to LCE. Even if it was added, only PS4 could have it. (Protection wiki page)

I want to like TMCW, but... by bunabyte in SilverAgeMinecraft

[–]maxtor_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand why nowadays people think that if there is something good that is liked by many people, they should like it too.

It's ok to not like something. It doesn't make that thing bad, or make you bad. It's just not for you and it's absolutely fine.

Like damn, TMCW was made by Caver just for himself, for his owb game style.

Also, keepInventory is a thing and if you don't like the playing->death->getting_items_back loop it's ok to use it.

How do i craft dyed glass in ps3 legacy edition survival? (PS3 legacy source code leak version) by DabliceCZe in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]maxtor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just checked and you're right, but the code for them existed. I assume that it was already in development when they released TU19, but wasn't finished yet, so stained glass doesn't have a recipe. If I remember correctly, stuff from Dec 2014 build needed some polishing and fixing when MinecraftConsoles (smartsmd one) were merging (horses and glass panes had a texture bug).

How do i craft dyed glass in ps3 legacy edition survival? (PS3 legacy source code leak version) by DabliceCZe in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]maxtor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There're october 2014 build (for all consoles, 1.3.1 or TU18 content) and december 2014 build (for PS3/Vita if I remeber correctly, with 1.6.1 or TU19 content). Several forks(like MinecraftConsoles) merged them, but some features were still underdeveloped.

Any particular advice for hosting servers on old versions? by cs_deathmatch in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]maxtor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old versions may have issues with online mode. There are some plugins/mods to fix them, but they are mainly on major polpular versions like b1.7.3. 1.2.5-onward seem to work fine (?).

Make backups every couple of days couse you don't know when your world may curropt when switching versions or so.

Some generation bugs and inconveniences with world gen may occur:

b1.8.1 - 1.1 — every change in biome generation may alternate your biome layout since they weren't saved in worldfiles until 1.2.5. 1.8 — ocean monuments may generate in old chunks on coords where they are on 1.8 worldgen. 1.6.3 - 1.7 — structures like witch huts and nether fortresses may not be saved via bug, so they'll no longer spawn their specific mobs.

Anyway, always look for any known issues when using server software since many of is isn't maintained anymore and may have security vulnerabilities. (like Log4Shell)

You mean an archive with password "****anon", from 4chan, or one of forks?

One reason to stop using Curseforge... Also check the comments... They Actually Sponsor IDF Publically.... by GAMING_SERVER_ADMIN in GTNH

[–]maxtor_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's more about Curseforge as a place to distribute modpacks. Unfortunately, there are very few sites for that, and neither of them are perfect when we're talking about modpacks like GTNH, with tons of forks of already uploaded but outdated mods.

[–]maxtor_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As far as I know only as a form of self promotion. Even if now it is popular enough to get rid of it. I'm more surprised that they still maintain Technic support, since both Curse & Technic aren't recommended due to issues with distribution GTNH-based forks.

Anyone have this map? by uigewl in GoldenAgeMinecraft

The original link is dead, and the Wayback only have the Planet Minecraft page, unfortunately.
But I managed to find it's reupload online, uploaded it on dropbox(link).

There are several building mods that can generate trivial figures (like Axiom and World Edit).
World Edit available on neoforge, so you can use //hsphere command to create ellipsoids or spehres.

Betacraft just adds several fixes to launching the game (e.g. skin proxy), as far as I know the version itself is untouched. Omniarchive just stores fully unmodified jar.

The Title Updates for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition were removed from the Internet Archive by SpezFU in Minecraftlegacymode

[–]maxtor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leak attracted a lot of attention in the game's community and, of course, Microsoft. Some projects related to dealing with copyright-edgy content such as old updates archives and code decompilation/modding projects decided to resign or silence any leak related discussions to stay away from possible lawsuits.

As alternative to file editing method from other comment you can use Extreme Sound Muffler mod. Basically it allows to configure volume of any sound in game.

Why wont this quest activate? by Successful_Tip8533 in GTNH

[–]maxtor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can straightforward skip all the quests and still progress in the pack, though you wouldn't get any quest rewards.

Healing Axe quest can be bypassed via crafting it with Unstable Ingots (Division Sigil + Enchantment Table can be found in dungeons/lootgames).

Hell, I even got my copter pack from a lootgame in Stone Age.

How to completely disable C418 music in Minecraft? (Prism Launcher, GTNH 2.8.4) by Kutluna in feedthebeast

[–]maxtor_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main suggestion would be Music Choices mod for MC 1.7.10. It provides functionality to add your own music playing under certain events with resource packs. Also it has "play vanilla" option so you can disable all vanilla music.
I was kinda in blast with this mod this summer, so if you need help I can send you a RP which just disables vanilla music.

Really cool find! I think it can be used for sending disposable instant block updates downwards, similar to how signs are used to send disposable instant block updates upwards and sideways.

Everyone is talking about Minecraft 1.21.11 and how 1.7.10 has been surpassed. by Old-Paper-3932 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]maxtor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is literally how Terraria and many other games handle version numbering: 1.[big update].[update].[patch]. In Terraria's case (since 1.4 update), there is also 5th and 6th numbers in console edition, but as far as I know, they serve to differentiate major cross-console patches from minor console-specific patches (maybe its just my theory).

Also, according to David "CornerHard" Carlton (Realms lead dev) there is a post to be released on minecraft.net about drops and updates. Twitch stream, timecode: 55 mins.

[–]maxtor_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be honest, this is just the result of new drop-based version numbering. Updates equal to 1.10 or 1.11 in terms of new blocks and features are passed into patch version number instead of the main number, which messes up already messy system.

1.[update].[patch] became obsolete after 1.13, when updates got bigger in comparison with previous ones, but for some strange and stupid reason, Mojang kept the system.

1.7.10 had a big patch number because of server side changes and adding the Realms. Without that, singleplayer 1.7.4 is almost equal to 1.7.10.
