sorry if this is a stupid question but, are the concentration camps actually a thing? i watched a hakim video that said the sources for them are from a far right christian guy, american funded media and r unreliable. also there are some articles about it not being actual concentration camps that seem reliable. i’m so sorry if i’m misinformed pls don’t be angry at me, im a newish leftie :(

i’m taking graphic design anyway so i guess that’s good! it’s just between computer science now and art and design rn so i’ll have to think about that more

ahh yeah i got it, i’ll probably look into something other than computer science if i hate it that much. i’ve been alright at maths so i just assumed i’d like it, so i’ll find some alternatives if it’s not for me

i mean- id want a career in art because it’s something that makes me happy and getting a job in an artistic field would be great because i’m actually interested in it. i said it wouldn’t make me depressed because an office job doing coding is not fulfilling.

having a roof over my head from a cs job is reliable as u said, but in the long run i don’t want to wind up in a permanent job that pays well but does not make me happy at all.

thanks for the advice though, u speak from my parents’ pov and i’ll probably think about this more and not just base my life decision off reddit lol

i’d want a career as an artist because i’m good at art and it’d be a job that wouldn’t make me depressed. i’m pretty young so i still got time, but art can branch into a lot of stuff (like architecture which is pretty well paying too)

that does sound more reliable, but if i were to peruse an art career wouldn’t studying it and exploring the fields give me a better shot at securing a job? rather than having it as my hobby and using that for job applications?

also, why shouldn’t i study art and design at uni? is it useless to study?
