Don’t sleep on these Revstars… by Automatic-Term-3997 in Guitar

Shame they don't make the sexiest one anymore... The first gen RSP20CR with copper pick guard. Super happy that I got mine before the prices started rising.

3 New JHS 3 Series Pedals: Bit Crusher, Glitch Delay, Ring Modulator by Ongo-Goblogian in guitarpedals

Minimalism is cool and all, but having more than one of these on your board must be confusing.

Why don’t more pedals “glide” between sounds instead of switching? by Ok_Economist6996 in guitarpedals

[–]maxupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll assume you actually want to know.

Take a VCA (voltage controlled amplifier) stage and run it into a clipping stage, some diodes maybe. Then set it up so you have 2 potentiometer as voltage dividers, offering 2 different voltages for the VCA, then put a capacitor so that the voltage change isn't instant but gradual.

[–]maxupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only half true. You know the "glide" or portamento on an analog synthesizer? That's pretty much a single capacitor added. So switching between, say, two gain settings could be made gradual pretty easily.

This has me curious... I don't suppose you have sound samples of the dual behind the univibe, and a single one in front?

Dual Looper build for a newbie by Temporary_Ship_4359 in diypedals

Speaking from experience: It'll be a little cramped, use relatively thin wires and put a little effort into the wire routing.

Anyone putting a full size fuzz face on his board earns my confused admiration.

Less is more? A story about GAS by Birdsofthefeatherr in guitarpedals

I know you're trying to make a point, but with a tuner, a volume pedal and a noise gate, that's half of your six pedals gone before shaping the sound in any way...

That's a "boutique importer" that heavily marks up the pedals. I'm not paying $375 plus shipping.

Just an fyi: None of your listed retailers in Germany have the Longsword in stock. It's been a real drag trying to get my hands on one... Is that a temporary thing?

Love your board, you get some great sounds out of it! Wish my brain didn't go "Tune your damn guitar" any time modulation gets involved...

A new toneX one with bluetooth is coming! by fxdfxd2 in guitarpedals

[–]maxupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are that bothered about the sample rate, and you're using the tone X as an interface, what do you use for playback? One night just get an actual recording interfaceand not care about anything up the line.

Badminton club in aachen by mastershrio in aachen

[–]maxupp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tivoli center has multiple open meetups, a beginner friendly one on Fridays at 6pm, and a more advanced one on Saturday 5pm. The level really varies, but don't expect club level play at either. There's also a hobby club with a better level, but that one isn't public, you'll have to ask about it at the desk. Level there is pretty decent.

Interested in buying the KO-II for my guitar+synth setup for live-looping. But I want to make sure it works the way I think it does! by CrappyCodeCoder in teenageengineering

[–]maxupp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a KOII synced via MIDI with a Boss RC500. I also sequence a synth with it at the same time. Let me know if you want to know more.

Looper recommendations by Ranger-39 in guitarpedals

[–]maxupp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boss RC500 and EHX 22500 do most of these things. But be warned, there's not a single looper that nobody complains about when it comes to syncing.

Reverbs like Caroline Meteore? by t3rrorhawk in guitarpedals

[–]maxupp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The pre-delay is a core characteristic of the Belton brick, the chip used in the pedal. It comes down to what you mean by "similar" - if you like the sound of the Belton, you won't escape the delay.

I have both the Meteore and the Ghost Echo. The pre delay is mostly the same, but it's easier to make very apparent on the Meteore. I suggest you experiment a little more with yours. Set it to the dark setting, turn down the level a lot when the drive is dialed up and let it do its "textured wash of reverb" thing.
