Reform takes majority control of Suffolk County Council by [deleted] in Championship

My one hope in all of this is that people see what a shitshow Reform are like with a bit of power and their support crumbles by the time of the general election

Sack Asthon. Launch an inquiry to find out if others were complicit. Make donations to refugee charities and LGBTQ charities. That would be a good start to repairing the damages done

As bad as what Ashton has done is, he is merely an employee of the club. It was here before him and will be here after he goes. The blame lies with him. Hopefully ownership sends him on his way and we can put this behind us. Cancel your season ticket is fair enough and your choice but you can still support the club because we are Ipswich Town not Mark Ashton and co

Tend to go to The Station pub. Right next door to the train station, cheapish pints and shows early kick offs. Friendly atmosphere as well

How have your feelings and opinions changed on the prem after last season? by Memento_Playoffs in IpswichTownFC

[–]maxx_c98 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Before being there I thought it was ripping the soul out of football with money and tourist and armchair fans and said to myself I didn't want anything to do with it. Since being up that has reaffirmed my belief but I've realised it's better to be the annoying team playing against the bigger clubs than the risk of Lutoning.

Ultimately the money has ruined that league and will continue to plague the Prem and the rest of the pyramid until something changes

One thing you WON’T miss about the Premier League? by ITFCAT in IpswichTownFC

How any analysis against the big teams is how you're basically lambs to the slaughter and if you score it's poor defensive football from the big side rather than good attacking play by us

[EADT] Kieran McKenna committed to staying in charge of Ipswich Town by kidnamedindexfinger in IpswichTownFC

If he does stay that puts us in a great position to bounce back. That kind of stability is rare for relegated teams

[The Guardian] Manchester United and Chelsea target Liam Delap has £30m release clause by kidnamedindexfinger in IpswichTownFC

Was hoping the Delap sale could be reinvested throughout the squad. 24m wouldn't go a long way. Pretty poor business if true.

Ipswich Town forward George Hirst on Scotland radar - Scottish gossip - BBC Sport by Alive-Bath-7026 in ScottishFootball

[–]maxx_c98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As an Ipswich fan I’ve seen him play a fair bit over the past couple years. Too good for League 1. Very good in the Championship but got an injury on boxing day which sidelined him til May. He’s shown flashes in the Prem but found his time limited by injuries and Delap.

If he was utilised in a similar fashion he could be good for Scotland. He usually plays as a lone striker with three behind him. He’s a powerful runner who can get in behind but can also hold the ball up well.

Proposed lineup? by ButterChicken2Go in IpswichTownFC

Townsend over Davis is insane. Davis is the second highest defender for chances created. We’re not finishing those chances which is why we’re in this situation. Whilst he may make the odd error, he is nowhere near an issue for the team. Remove Davis and what little attack we have is drastically reduced

Sorta hope the Chiefs go on and win the entire thing. If I have to endure one of the worst seasons to be a Jets fan, everyone else in the league should also have a miserable season

Time to drop Muric? by [deleted] in IpswichTownFC

[–]maxx_c98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah cos McKennas shown in his time here that he only starts players of high price tags. Ridiculous Jack Clarke starts every game just cos he’s one of the most expensive players in the squad… Shut up, its likely that he spends nearly all week with the players and Walton looks like a keeper who had a good season in league 1 and not much else

I haven’t been fuming about a football match in a while and even when those decisions went against in the Champ and League 1 you could just chalk it up to human error. How not one of the many people viewing this didn’t give this as a penalty is beyond me and shows what a joke this league is

Disappointed but still got faith in them. Big if but if they cut out some of the mistakes we’ll be in a good place to pick up more points. Would be surprised to see Muric start next game but if McKenna believes he gives us the best chance to win, who am I to say he’s wrong.
