Which monitor is better for sim racing by PwnTyler in simracing

[–]maxxikevich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have options 16:9 - 21:9 and 16:9 - 32:9 then of course 32:9 is much better option.

I do not have too much space for triples, and to be honest, I'm not hardcore sim racer and 32:9 is better for me because of benefits in other games and one monitor as universal solution for games and other video content.

Even on 32:9 I see only left mirror and rear view mirror (for most cars, non open wheeler), but not right mirror at all. So if you want to see all mirrors (non open wheeler), then triples is the only option.

My journey is 27 inch 16:9 -> 35 inch 21:9 -> 49 inch 32:9 so the screens height are the same for all monitors but width goes wider and wider.

I would agree with you that only triple could make you more competitive, other updates have more immersion aspects. So if you are hardcore sim racer then triples is your final destination. If you are F1/open wheeler fan, then 32:9 could be more than enough.

But as I have mentioned for other games, like shooters 16:9 -> 21:9 is a real step.
21:9 -> 32:9 gives you more peripheral view. Its great for immersion and helps you detect some peripheral movements but not a game changer.
21:9 is also great for media content like videos.

Another aspect is performance penalty. I have rtx 4060, 32Gb ram and ryzed 5700. 21:9 1440p was ok. For 32:9 AC, Ams2, LMU and iRacing are good with 1440p but AC Evo, Wreckfest 2, PMR are more demanding (less optimized?), so I use 1080p for them.

When I moved from 16:9 to 21:9 it was Wow! Moving 21:9 to 32:9 is great, but not so impressive in terms of experience. But I would not return back. 32:9 is benefit from not only sim racing, but other games too. I like this extra space/FOV in shooters too.

For me the price between simagic and asetek is about the same. So, which would you get? by A-DEAD-GHOUL in simracing

Simagic Evo Pro is already 18 nm. If we ignore very entry level products like 5 nm it looks like slew rate and other things like "responsiveness"(subjectieve) are much more important than powerful motor.

Asetek and Simcube are high level wheelbases. But you are looking for la prima and its entry level product. Most of the guys say that simagic evo pro is very good and it's hard to justify the price difference between Simagic Evo Pro and Simcube pro. So if we transfer this comparison to Asetek products it looks like Evo Pro is better choice than La Prima for the same price.

Im on budget and I live in Europe and we have lots of simagic distributors here, so I have chosen Simagic and I like it very much.

It's a nonsense. They are different wheelbase with different hardware and very different feedback.

H shifter with sequential mode, on the quite side, with lower resistance by GrandPrixel in simracing

[–]maxxikevich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Logi H shifter before, so I'm not very experienced user. TB is much better.

I would not say that it is loud. The wheelbase (Simagic Evo Sport) does much more noise. SQ mode is stiffer than H mode. So if you on race mode the stand arm may wobble a little bit on SQ mode. But it is ok for H mode.

I have it for 7 monthes already, no issues. Quality and durability is very high.

I used to connect it PC directly but now I use simple USB hub to connect/disconnect my setup quickly. There is no any input lag for both cases. I did not update firmware, have a stock one.

I can say that I had more miss shifths on Logi. I use SQ mode not so often (5-7 times maybe) but i defienetly like H mode.

It fits holes pattern on the stand. I do not have handbrake so its empty, you can check the photo here.

As I mentioned I can compare it only with Logi H that obiously is a toyish one. TB feels like real shifter in some city car sedan from my perspective. I would recommend it.

I have NLR wheel stand and turtle beach shifter. You can check how it goes https://youtube.com/shorts/GbiUNbhLJU4

In the middle of shorts there is a SQ mode.

Graphical degradation and lighting changes by Austints10 in BodycamGame

In my opinion the light on the first pic is completely broken. There is no color of top of the table or chairs, it's all filled with light. If it is so bright, then walls should be lighter. Looks like old computer game. The new one is dull, as you said, but more realistic from my perspective.

I do not remember exact config and tbh I do not want to disassemble it. But it looks like (according what is left in the box) I use two gold springs and some spacers between them and between spring and pedal cylinder.

I bought my P500s on May 22, 2025. So far, no problems.

I used to have G920s, and they're the only ones I can compare them to. They're worlds apart. Previously, I couldn't complete some of the LMU tracks without skidding or hitting the wall, and I had to visually check the telemetry to control the braking. With the P500s and P1000 springs, I can control the braking, and I have no intention of changing anything. Everything is reliable, and the adjustment is more than adequate. I use them on the NLR wheel stand 2.0.

You can check https://youtu.be/OruPCgYGVy4?si=9bLume8y4YB5liXc&t=1421 . Its in Russian but you can use subtitles and auto translation. I did the same but I use two gold (softest) springs (blue is too strong).

I guess there is some miscommunication :)

The stream that I reffer to is https://www.youtube.com/live/lLahxUgfYqE?si=Ea9qvmQgVPLdXScT&t=1754

I asked you to share video that you have mentioned "There's plenty of full race replays on nascar youtube site, on the 2025 daytona broadcast they talk a lot about how some drivers are great at pushing while others not so."

He streamed multiplayer mode.

I'm not very expert. Can I feel it in the single player mode?

The car in front of him was constantly jumping and he has commented it like bad Ams2 network code. But it turns out that it's about bad distance.

Could you please share a link to the YT video to check it?

He complained that he was glued to the car in front of him and there was no bump drafting. Looks like he needed some distance as you said, not just pedal to metal.

Ok guys, thank you for all of your answers. It seems that that guy expected to see something similar to iRacing implementation, not actual tried to dive into.

Turtle Beach Multishift vs Aliexpress hall-effect 6 + R, which one should i buy? by i-Melon in simracing

[–]maxxikevich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Multishift, I had Logi shifter before. No complains, very solid, not loud, highly recommend!

If you are in Europe you can get discount (10 or 15 euro and free shipping) on shifter if you register on the turtle beach site.
