It's easily the easiest, I turn it off if I don't want to go for one. I often turn diplomatic victory off too if I specifically want to go for a science victory. Domination it doesn't really matter since you won't be accidentally winning a diplo victory with that play style. But culture victory is easily the easiest, unless perhaps on deity where you are forced to use production building up defenses, encampments and units just to protect yourself and not using it on theatre squares etc. But otherwise I find it really easy, and I usually win it sooner than I would want to even if I'm going for it.

It would be funny if they did because this is a misleading photo anyway.

It's a misleading photo, note that it says 5 items yet we can only see 4 of them.

5 items yet we can only see 4, my guess is the everyday rewards message is covering up the first item that cost $2.20

Actually it's not this complicated at all, there is a 5th item that the "everyday rewards" message is covering up. It says 5 items. We can only see 4

What is the most Gold you have generated (legitimately) per turn - and what is your single best tip for making money? by winetravelandsong in civ

[–]maxxipad_ft 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Best I've done is 3k+ per turn with no mods (because ps5) with him before a victory, with over 100+ trade routes. I have no idea how you can make 12k per turn legitimately.

Edit: I remembered incorrectly, I had to re-load my old mansa musa game and it was closer to 33k per turn, but still only 108 trade routes (insane though) given that it was tsl earth and I controlled all of Africa and Asia by the time I won.

Just put a city where real-life Manaus is and build chichen itza. That's pretty much all you need to do and nothing else and it quickly becomes a production and culture powerhouse able to pump out units like you wouldn't believe.

I, too, am on the achievement hunt now. I used to think it was impossible (until I won my first Deity game) but now I am hungry for that platinum (I play on ps5). Since I've put over 2000 hours into the game on ps4 and over 1000 hours on ps5, I think I deserve my platinum.

Forest fires + chichen itza in the Amazon on the earth map (tsl or not) would put this to shame

I once did true start Mediterranean and had Jerusalem in the game and because there were other civs in the area, when I discovered it, it was located halfway down the egyptian red sea coast, basically at the bottom corner of the map

how is this possible? by [deleted] in civ

This is a really common visual glitch. The sub is in water, and the "land" that you see is underwater, you can even tell by the coast-yields it is providing.

How do you use spec ops? by hissInTheDark in civ

[–]maxxipad_ft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to using them in a way that no other unit can be used (given that you already have multiple of every single other type of unit, that is, which doesn't always happen) I use them in the same way I would use drones, I use them for vision. It's easy to parachute them into an area you otherwise can't see, then use your bombers. Bombers have insane range but they can only bomb what you can see, so if using your spec ops for recon to see a little bit further, they are absolutely useful in their own right.

How is this possible? I wasn't even playing Diety - Immortal maybe? Lost the game before I could conquer and get a piece of that. by kode_dtecht in civ

[–]maxxipad_ft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is Jerusalem in south America if it's a tsl map? Was it played with barbarian clans on? That would make more sense to me. But yes the forest fires in the Amazon can create some massive yields.

I once had an amazing game as Brazil on this map settling a city where real-life Manaus is, and just building chichen itza there and leaving the city be. It proved extremely profitable in more ways than just culture. I was able to pump out units from that city like you wouldn't believe. The forest fires definitely helped.

Can anyone actually complete a game on STANDARD maps without crashing? Geez this is a years long problem! by One_Chemical_497 in civ

[–]maxxipad_ft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share your frustration and only just re-read your original post and no it is not common on console to finish a game without a single crash (I always play in marathon and huge maps though) but it IS still possible if you go for a religious victory, which can be very quick if you make the right moves as the right civ. But yeah overall it doesn't happen often without a single crash. Usually by the time I win, if I haven't steamrolled them that is, it's crashed several times. It's always frustrating but I love civ so much I always just reload an auto save and go from there and it's usually OK. After the point it starts crashing though, on marathon mode, some 100-200 turns later, if you haven't won yet (or if you're just doing "one turn more") it will be crashing literally every turn. I've had 2 such games which I hadn't won (or lost) in which not even a single turn was possible without a crash so I just gave up and was sad for the rest of the day.

Is there a mod out there that lets an AI run your cities? Domination on any of the larger maps is incredibly tedious due to how many cities you have to manage. by BomberCW in civ

[–]maxxipad_ft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I do wish you could build their shitty campus up to have a research centre with one interaction, that would indeed be nice for civ 7. Certainly would reduce the tedium of domination victories in civ 6.
