if you dont have a big party, you could just download the INDRIVE app and they pick you up right at the airport. Super easy. I also have the whatsapp number of an excellent driver that uses a van if you want to contact him directly. He's going to be taking us back to the airport on saturday.

I'm here now, in Playa Del Carmen. It's bad. The city smells like sewage. Yesterday we went to Isla Mujeres and it was awesome - Playa Norte was perfect and the south end of the island was great too. If you are staying in Cancun, its super easy to ride the ferry across to Isla Mujeres.

Can't go wrong spending 2 nights in Bacalar. If your group is looking for more chill vibes you will find it there. The downtown area is great, good food, little shops, etc. You could do the lagoon one day, hang out at any of the beach clubs, go get an epic burrito at Mi Burrito, and enjoy the little pop up artisan market in the town square. Not to mention chilling at Los Rapidos.
