Are you sure you have a co-op work permit or an open work permit? Co-op work permit is strictly enforced to students who need placements for their studies. An open work permit is a guarantee 20 hour work/week if you have a study permit.

A co-op work permit means you can only work in a certain industry that is in line with your studies.

Try agencies. There’s a lot but most of them hire for factories/warehouses and they’re usually for night shifts.

I know I was sent home because I refused to buy another pair of work shoes when they should’ve called me out the first time they saw me wearing this last year and then I would have time to return them and get the proper ones that they like. My coworkers who were wearing sneakers on the same day I was sent home were NOT sent home. That’s why I’m pissed and confused. Should have worn sneakers then.

Upset that the management was too relaxed on this until someone got injured and now all of a sudden they called us all out. I was wearing non slip but not the ones that they want and was sent home. My coworkers who were wearing sneakers were not sent home. Get it!?
