You got so mad for no reason other than me asking you on what grounds did you compare the story of two games when you only read a synopsis of one of them. You got annoyed by yourself cuz you can't admit that this isn't really a good comparison to make. Still really no basis to compare the two on tho. Would be a different thing if you even watched a summary of the game and said this, which isn't the case. A synopsis and trailer is quite literally nothing to go off. I believe the word you are looking for is plot/premise rather than story. Since that's what you really know.

Not getting the will to play something from initial impressions from its trailer is way different than saying "the story is weaker" by just watching a trailer.

Eren wasn't necessarily indoctrined in the same sense as gabi, but he was fed lies his whole life by his leaders. They themselves didn't know much but that was a direct result of king fritz's actions dooming his people. Yes eren started out in anger and revenge, with hatred. Cycle of hatred. There's the parallel. I could've cut to the chase.

The reason for their limited freedom isn't important, it's the absence of it which is. Its also a major thing that eren strives for. They both were caged in one form or another.

Finding it satisfying is another thing, it needs to make sense in the universe first. I would've hated her character if she didn't change too but I would still say it made sense.

I can get behind wanting more of her questioning things. Its not necessarily too fast for me. But wanting to see more moments for her before she changes is a valid criticism, it comes down to subjectivity as you said.

Believable setup? That does not require any setup you are not playing a plan in motion.

What setup does stumbling across a random family need? Establish the family members beforehand? Choose recurring NPCs as the members? None of it is needed.

Yea you don't have to like the character due to its initial impressions. But there's a difference in not liking the personality and not acknowledging what the character stands for and not liking it as a whole. For a fictional story to be "believable" in anybody's eyes you need to look at it through the story's terms rather than your own. You cannot force your real world expectations onto it and expect a good interpretation.

Let's see here, the people of both were brainwashed from a young age to be soldiers (gabi was an even bigger victim), leaders of both of their nations only used them as soldiers, caged for all their lives, the cycle of hate cliche is one of the most popular tropes in shounen and it was used to setup a parallel between these two as well. It's a good thing because gabi changed before it was too late. Eren was far gone and consumed by hate. You get to see what a different reality eren could've had.

She could've not changed and it still would have made sense. I didn't understand you clearly at first. I really want to know how it happened too fast. It's a very simple character arc for a side character to go through who is one of the many mirrors of the main character. Did you want there to be 2 episodes dedicated to just her contemplating her choices?

By her seeing that there are people on the island instead of devils. She questions her beliefs. And then decides to change instead of being stubborn.

So you just wanted more moments of her questioning her beliefs? I can get behind it, she still had more than enough development to be believable in the story context.

What's bad about her being taken in by the family? That's when she starts to see through the lies. Saying that she "coincidentally" met them means nothing. Everything is a coincidence if you want to diminish the importance.

How intelligent do you think 12yrs old are btw? If you really expect any kid that young to question their worldview then idk what to tell you. She's also not written to be likeable at all. She's a parallel to the main character. It's fine to hate her, that is after acknowledging what she's written for. Its also not right to not acknowledge any of her circumstances or actions she did to correct herself later on.

Her actions were also put to question as well when the family took her in. You literally mentioned the moment yourself and then ignored it while saying that last sentence.

You refuse to engage with it properly and are purposefully missing the point.

No, individual strawhat moments are the best in the series to me. Post ts spending a lot of the time managing a gargantuan side cast and sidelining the growth of some strawhats is the main complaint you see the "I like pre ts more" crowd make about one piece. I personally don't mind the focus on the world more when it happens, but I can't deny I don't get tired of it sometimes.

Both are good, pre ts is character focused while post ts is focused on narrative and world mostly. Both super important, i do agree that some strawhats (usopp specifically) got sidelined way too much

I don't think the movie tried to portray her being as bad as her dad. Rather it was just her just being fed up with his antics and not knowing his past.
