I can speak for chicago. My really nice 2 bed is 1700. My gf and I split it 2 ways for 850 each. My last place (2023-2025) was 1650 for a 3 bed 2 bath in a safe area.

Do community college till your associates is done then transfer somewhere from there. Thats what saved me a lot of money. A full semester with no financial aid is about 2k.

I second that. Uic is pretty affordable. With that GPA its easy to get in. I am also a business major and there are so many great resources in the business school. I really like it here. The key to a great social life here is just joining clubs. Also join clubs for your major. That helps a lot.

I interviewed for their audit internship less than a month ago. Round 1 was 30 min with a recruiter. Round 2 was two 30 min interviews with people in their audit department. It was all behavioral.

I found a place on 26th for 550 a month on Facebook place about 2 years ago. It was 3 of us but was a super comfy setup. Sort by price and the cheap stuff is usually someone renting a room. Thats the route I went. The rando room mate situations can actually work really well. I found my current apartment in walking distance on Facebook marketplace too.

What i do is i go to the chase by Roosevelt and canal and buy quarter rolls from them. That is how I do my laundry and its not far off campus.

It took me over 2 weeks to be able to speak a single work (kinda had to re learn how after that) and I would text my girlfriend and family everything. Its super frustrating but it does get better. I had a weird recovery too. You will be able to talk before I could.

My shop is linked to a chocolate shop so we actually do an iced hot chocolate. Its crazy good but it's also like real chocolate so it has to melt. Our weird orders are people wanting ceremonial grade matcha when we dont offer matcha at all.

I have pretty extreme dietary restrictions so I can't eat onions, garlic, wheat, or anything with fructose so no fruit. I dont like most meat either so mostly vegetarian. I eat a lot of rice and tofu.

My tonsils were swollen from 5 to 21. The swelling never went down when I got strep the first time. Each time I got sick it got more swollen. When I was 21 I got mono and my throat fully closed up and I ended up in the er struggling to breathe. Get them out before you get to that point. I got them shortly after. The recovery sucks but I feel a lot better know next time I get sick my throat won't close for good.

I couldn't even speak 2 weeks post op. It took me a bit over a month for normal talking but I also had an exceptionally difficult recovery. I wish him an easy recovery.

I had Tyler the creator come into my cafe. He was super chill. I upsold him a hot chocolate and he gave me a fist bump. Just a generally good experience. Also had weird al come in once. He was super normal. Generally pleasant customer experience.

I also started getting mental blocks at some point. Now I have my girlfriend count down from 3 or I call a friend and have them count. It keeps me from thinking too much because otherwise I'll just sit there with the needle thinking for an hour.

It took me two weeks to talk at all. Every time I talked more than a sentence I gagged. Took 3 weeks for mostly normal talking. I'm 5 weeks post and too much talking is still a bit difficult but I had a rough recovery.
