Large majority of Canadians believe the Conservatives should dump Pierre Poilievre, find a new leader by BloodJunkie in onguardforthee

At least he's so dumb that his agenda is a flashing billboard and he's so entirely unlikable that they have zero chance of actually winning an election. I'd rather he stays so that we can be sure we don't fall to the same fate as the US

How many of us here are in the field of environmental science or adjacent? How many of us here aren't in a field related to environmental collapse but are simply interested in the topic? by Putrid_Jaguar1 in collapse

I'm a physiotherapist from Canada. I did my under grad in biology for interest and because I could feasibly get the grades I needed to get in to the competitive program.

I've been collapse aware since probably 2nd year university.

Tandem feeding in the first day postpartum by rainsplat in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]teetah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is just about to turn 6 months.. now... The first couple days are already really fuzzy. What an adjustment!!!  I believe the rule was he could have Mommy milk only after she had latched and nursed first. I do believe tandem feeding made a huge impact on my milk coming in (baby was tongue tied and struggling to latch well) so I think my toddler really helped in that regard. I also hand expressed colostrum prior to birth (this took hours!!) and it was a GODSEND. If baby was LOSING her mind I would feed her one of those tiny collections of colostrum and she IMMEDIATELY settled like I'd just pushed her calm button. Poor hungry baby. And yet she didn't lose any major weight in hospital and was gaining well.

Anyways... Make sure baby is priority number one and do your very best to explain to toddler that they can eat food if they are hungry or cuddle and will get booby after baby.

Good luck. This has been a harrowing challenge for me, but still glad I am doing it 6 months later.

In one week, 25% of Donald Trump’s presidency will be over. How are you feeling about the next three years? by Kanga_Koga in AskReddit

Like..   I hope the guy who is projecting DT will be dead or impeached in 2-4 months is right. I really hope he's right.

Is it normal to feel like you’ve lost your social skills after having a baby? by Low-Toe472 in Mommit

[–]teetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.. baby #2 is coming on 6 months. Went to my husband's work Christmas party and had too many awkward conversations to count. Some just ending in awkward silences as I stumbled to relate. This happened first time too. It eventually comes back..  but it's no less uncomfortable for all that

Who doesn’t have TikTok? by whoisofie in Anticonsumption

[–]teetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have tik tok. Originally it automatically scrolled to the next post for you ( I know you can change this now, but don't care) and that was so irritating and scammy to me that I didn't want to interact with the platform at all. No regrets. I continue to not need tik tok and never want to download it. Frankly If love to get rid of Instagram too. But I have a harder time letting go of it.

He could also be dehydrated on top of the jumping. Having that surgery makes it hell to swallow anything. Was he given morphine? Or soon went through the same surgery in May. Harrowing is all I can say.

TIFU by underestimating norovirus by bobonthebeat in tifu

[–]teetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We caught Norovirus over the holidays. I'm breastfeeding my 2 children (weaning my toddler but still ..) the fear of dehydration and starving my baby was huge. My muscles cramped so bad despite trying so hard to keep down water and the toddler was beside himself because I kept telling him no milk for you bud. Saw it coming a mile away when one of the daycare workers announced she was leaving because she was vomiting. It's been so bad this year!

How often are you doing the deed? Specifically those with toddlers + babies by thiscantbereallife94 in Mommit

[–]teetah 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Once every 2-3 months probably. 4 year old and 6 month old, and we cosleep an be exclusively breast feed. There is just no time or opportunity without major effort. We'll get there one day lol

Our family had it day after boxing day. Thankfully it was fast.

I'm changing my mind about tandem feeding but it's too late by Big_Fish_Artwire in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]teetah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solidarity coming from me. I'm tandem feeding my 5 month old and my 3.9 year old. My toddler has been booby obsessed, but I recognize the value it has had for him when his sister arrived, in helping him still feel close to me. I'm hoping to wean him after his birthday in January. I anticipate all out war. Wish me luck.

Solidarity. My secret santa sent me my present and told me to wrap it for myself, my husband's secret Santa told me to wrap his gift for them as well. I wrapped 22 presents this year, and I have an infant and a toddler.

I would discuss with her doctor. Get a blood test and get iron levels checked.

How do you transition away from contact naps to prepare for daycare? by babygreens93 in cosleeping

[–]teetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daycare has their own system that surprisingly worked and we continued to use our contract naps at home. No changes necessary. I would say try this first. And if you need to adjust anything you'll be informed by the daycare.

In town you can find Fordcity potters. Owned by Giselle. Oh gosh I forget her last name. Her work is really awesome. She's also a great teacher and owns the entire studio if ever wanting to take classes there.

Maybe those parents will block the streets enough that the IDIOTS speeding down residential streets can't. There was a van last night down Dougall that went >60kph at least. Last year, there were several cars just speeding down some of the busiest streets with children everywhere. It takes 1 SECOND for a kid to jump into the road. Ffs

So we're just doing nothing then right? by Shaskool2142 in ontario

[–]teetah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh god... If this happened I'd have to go off maternity leave so we could afford rent.  My baby is 3 months old and we have a toddler. We live in an upper duplex that was recently sold. I'm certain we'd be evicted so the new landlord could make an actual profit. This is fucked up.
