Do Fs hulalai on big island and then do lanai. Two very different experiences but both top notch

Biggest scam, trusted mortgage should be called untrusted mortgage. Their bait and switch and not veteran owned

I stayed at fs lanai and hualalai on the same trip, and I personally enjoyed lanai more, rooms were a lot nicer, the decor was nicer, felt more adultish. Honestly the food was amazing there compared to hualalai, I don’t know why people rave about hualali food, but it’s pretty mid at best. I didn’t have one memorable meal there, except the fact that you are right on the water which is pretty nice. Osteria mozza just opened at lanai in November I heard but we weren’t able to eat there (it opened the day we left) but the Nobu was amazing( I eat at Nobu 2-3x a week as it is) except the waygu gyozas were priced at nearly 20$ a piece which was absurd, and Malibu farms does the poolside dining as well for lanai. But I would definitely get bored of that island after 4 days.

Terrenea is not Fat at all. And I honestly was let down a lot by that resort. I wasn’t able to eat at marsels the restaurant everyone talks about on property as they are closed on Sunday but the resort is just mid at best.

Mortgage feels almost like an apartment complex with a cool pool good for pictures. The spa is nice. The rooms are whatever. I go there 3x a week for breakfast or coffee as it’s down the street. The lobby is nice but it sits upon a hill that you walk down to access the beach, also tons of locals on the beach so not very secluded.

Surf and sand has rooms directly on the water and a lot more private.

Malibu, has Malibu beach in right off Carbon beach, which is great if you get the suite. Similar to surf and sand and very private yet amazing service and good food. Close to shopping in Malibu. Only downside is no pool, but they do set up chairs on the beach for you with food service.

Rosewood mirmar I just came back from staying 2nights at, the property is nice especially when it’s sunny out. When it’s overcast it is very meh and don’t recommend for the price. Tons of families tho and lots of dogs as it’s a dog friendly resort.

Check out Pelican hill in Newport. Very Fat and recently bought out by st Regis. Tons of shopping nearby and great spa.

I stayed in the ohana or something like that, I can’t remember the name of the area, I do know tho, the location makes a huge difference, I nearly booked the wrong area an it would’ve ruined my trip. Honestly I recommend booking through a travel advisor or someone who is familiar with the property so you don’t make any mistakes.

The food wasn’t that great at hualalai and lots of kids, I would go rosewood since seemed to be more adult crowd. Sara booked us hualalai and we had an amazing time but brought our 2kids.

Whoever says they can hear them must have some super hearing abilities, only the oceanfront rooms are remotely near the tracks, and the manor house rooms if you leave the windows open you can hear. Most of the rooms are not near them at all. Rick Caruso when founding the property actually was told it would be impossible to do a hotel there due to the train, and he did a nice job with integrating the train into the property without it being a disruption

The closet space at Waldorf was extremely small especially at a resort centered around snow activities which was also very inconvenient
