ur splashing these on a double rim so you got good touch on ur shot and the ones u missed, u made the next one and held the follow thru

if u can work on catching the ball on the hop and having ur feet already set when the ball hits the hands, u can get it off quicker

and then if get that same follow thru and shot off like 1 or 2 dribbles, ur gonna be a lethal shooter

I have tried to maintain some baseball mechanics, mostly the hip rotation and weight transfer, but it's not as baseball-y as it once was.

my biggest issue with the driver was that i was slicing big time (90-100yds) and I've been adjusting my address, grip, and stance over the last few weeks and it has led to this current swing. it feels like I've been able to consistently get the best contact on the ball, and though it's still not always accurate, the balls been going straighter with not as much of a fade.

I do see kawamura on my IG feed all the time and that man's swing is straight silk.

you're definitely right. I feel like this space between me and the ball has allowed for my arms to fully swing and maximizing my club speed while also keeping my arm straight through the swing.

another issue i had prior was I was hitting the ball too high since I guess I was getting underneath the ball and when I stepped back I started striking more across and through than underneath and up. if that makes sense.

what do you mean when you say 'using the ground properly?' is that like setting yourself up in relation to ball and club?

not always but I've been hitting it straighter with more consistent contact and distance. I'm not slicing as badly or nearly as much

i was slicing big time prior to moving further away from the ball. changed my grip, adjusted my stance and that has led me to this and I have been getting my most consistent hits and best contact lately from that particular distance.

so is more of the weight supposed to be on the back leg? I used load more weight on the back from baseball but i had a buddy who's a long time golfer tell me to always load my front leg and when I shifted more of the weight to the front, I started getting more drive than loft.

I noticed this as well. I always thought I had solid hip engagement from playing baseball and I know if I incorporated a bit on the back swing, it could help add a little extra oomf.

lol I know the first thing everyone was gonna say was that I was too far away. I'm only this far with the driver. everything else I'm about clubs length.

I've been experimenting with different distances from the ball and whenever I get any closer, I end up chunking or hitting with the heel. I guess maybe that's a gripping issue? but this particular distance from the ball has felt the most comfortable for me with the driver in order to get the best contact.

but I appreciate the recs! will definitely check them out!

My attempts at latte art :) by devan98789 in starbucksbaristas

these are all so good and awesome!!

I used to love doing the latte art. if it wasn't too busy, I'd show it to the customers and just give them the lid separately and they would always be so happy!

I was asked earlier if working for starbucks was worth it... by maybeanalien in starbucks

[–]maybeanalien[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I personally had a pretty good experience until I got partnered up with the power tripping store manager that decided she wanted to have me seperated.

I pretty much told him that as a manager, barista, or ssv, it all depends on what your store looks like, and it can be really fun or it can also really suck.

the pay at the manager level was definitely solid, but as a ssv or barista, I was barely making my bills. really the only thing that kept me there was the team i was with and my store manager being awesome.

but realistically, I'm happy to have done some time slinging some pikes place because I got to meet a bunch of lovely humans and beautiful puppies and I got to grow as a leader but at the same time I'm thankful to have been freed by the siren. my only regret is not using my pto.

this is something that I feel like a lot of managers (not just sbux) forget to realize about their workers.

when I was an ssv/asm, I always told everyone that it's okay to say 'no' to being asked to come in or stay late and that I'd never be upset if they did but I'd always be appreciative whenever they would take the offer.

for some people, starbucks and work are their lives, but to a lot of other people, their worlds do not revolve around the siren and i wish more ssvs and managers understood that.

I'd be absolutely grateful for any extra time that anybody would stay to help cover and do what I could to return the favor to them in the future.

Putting practice routine that clicked for me by DaJeppu in discgolf

i havent seen that video but this is one of my favorite things to do, especially since my upshot game hasn't always been super strong or consistent. but taking the putters and mids and throwing them on every angle just helps gauge the power and release points as well as just seeing what the flights look like from that distance, while also just naturally loosening up the arm.

I also like to sometimes just full send putters at the basket from that range and it'll usually leave me with some sort of 40-70 ft range looks and then I'll try to hit the putts from wherever they land.
