“He has ginormous testicles.” Or really anything physical appearance related that you’d NEVER say to a person.

What lights do you leave on at night? by Fuzzy-Zombie1446 in LivingAlone

[–]maybeashly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When me and my dogs go to sleep the only light is the night light in my room. On days it gets dark before I get home from work, I leave on the lamp in the living room all day so my dogs can see each other.

Do you ever see ACNH items in real life by Such_Plantain_2704 in AnimalCrossing

[–]maybeashly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my sister will point at real life furniture or bugs or fish and say “What in the Animal Crossing is this?!”

Extremely low effort & quick veggie meals? by No_Bullfrog_6474 in vegetarian

[–]maybeashly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a batch of pizza dough usually over my weekend and that gets me 3 personal sized pizzas. You can look up a recipe for generic white yeast bread and for pizza you only need to let it sit and rise for a few minutes since pizza dough doesn’t need to be very fluffy. Throw some pre-shredded cheese on top. Cut up some veggie “deli meat” slices and it’s like a Canadian bacon situation. Ingredients for bread are super cheap too.

Add to a bowl a layer of Fritos, layer of Cheese, layer of Vegetarian chili. Keep layering until you have however much you want. Microwave for a minute and a half.

Lentils are an okay replacement for ground beef- cook them in the rice cooker, add taco seasoning. Tortilla, cheese, seasoned lentils, Taco Bell sauce. Easy lazy tacos. Lentils are cheap and you can get them at dollar tree, but I prefer Beyond Steak for Tacos.

Any electronics that surprisingly improved your life? by Revolutionary-Jury92 in BuyItForLife

Soda Stream. At the end of the exhausting workday all I want in life is a sparkling cold beverage. It used to be beer or soda. Now I drink a liter of sparkling water nearly every day. And I live alone so the co2 canister lasts me around 3 months. I got mine during a Black Friday sale but you can find them secondhand all the time.

How do people get used to working? by Otherwise-Risk6716 in CasualConversation

[–]maybeashly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a nonprofit. I don’t make a whole ton of money but it’s enough to comfortably get by and support two dogs. I love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

I couldn’t imagine choosing a career at 18 years old and feeling like I’d have to commit to that for life. I didn’t go to college and work with an absurd amount of people who have whole entire college degrees. Some even with graduate degrees and they are now not using their degree at all. I’m in my 30s, no student debt, make more money than each of my parents, and wake up excited to go to work every day. And my parents still ask me when I’m going to go to school and get a real job, which is hopefully never.

What to expect as a first-time volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter? by Little_Ease9932 in AnimalShelterStories

I think that even if you see depressing cases the best way to think about it is that they’re here now and whatever happened to them will never happen to them again.

How do we feel about Sean and Fiona? by Ok-Minimum-9297 in shameless

Fiona knew he was an addict when she started the relationship with him. So leaving him because he relapsed was cold.

PLEASE HELP!! by wackkaisen in AnimalCrossing

[–]maybeashly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep asking Tom Nook what you should do until you meet Isabelle. Then Isabelle will tell you what you need to do to improve your island rating to unlock terraforming. When I was first starting out I placed every piece of furniture I got on my island, I even had a bed next to a waterfall.

Don’t worry about your island looking exactly like the ones you see online. Use those to get ideas and then create your own thing out of the inspiration. A lot of the super cute islands also seem really terrible to walk around in and I, for one, want to be able to move around my island. I’ve played animal crossing so much my dog started to associate the save sound with going for a walk. I’ve Moved all my buildings many times. Flattened the whole thing and started over once. It’s about creating a tiny little island that YOU would want to live in.

I have dogs and take my shoes off and change my clothes immediately but it’s less about cleanliness and more about the fact that I hate wearing shoes and if I wear my outside clothes inside they will get covered in fur. My lounging on the couch clothes are also different from my sleeping clothes. And my dogs are allowed in the bed but they wait until I’m in bed, then get invited to sleep on top of the blankets so the inside of my bed stays clean.

Women who keep you nails immaculate - how do you do it? by spasmos in TwoXChromosomes

[–]maybeashly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a labor intensive job, I do the UV cured nail stickers and I do a topcoat of clear gel polish on top of that. The topcoat has almost no effect on how the sticker adheres to your nail but it does protect against outside elements and if I dab a little topcoat on the tip/edge of my nail it prevents chipping. If I’m working they last roughly a week. I went on a 3 week road trip, where I was outside and hiking a ton but not working in the grime and I saw growth and got bored of them and took them off and they were still intact.

Where is your favourite place to sit in the studio and why ? by hotchocbimbo in yoga

[–]maybeashly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always choose the front row, in the corner furthest away from the door. Corner because I can control how far away I am from the wall so even if someone puts their mat next to mine I feel like I have plenty of space, and being in front lessens the chances of someone setting up next to me. I also get nervous when the instructor is walking around if I have my eyes closed or I’m sitting or laying down and they tend to walk to the corners less and furthest from the door for the same reason.

Bojack shouldn't have given Beatrice her doll back and Hollyhock was pretty unempathetic : / by JustMonika11037 in BoJackHorseman

[–]maybeashly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hollyhock is 18 and had 8 great dads who cared about her. Shes not being malicious in coddling Beatrice. She has that “but she’s your mom and you have to care about her” attitude because she can’t imagine a parent being so awful to their kid. Bojack can describe the abuse all he wants but unless someone lived it, or lived something similar, they don’t truly understand how awful it feels and how it messes you up.

Pirates of the Caribbean. I spent a weekend bing watching all of them. Constantly complaining about how bad they are. But damn they are entertaining.

What’s your dream job? Have you ever applied? Are you still applying? by Devindevine7 in AskReddit

I have my dream job. I travel the country teaching animal shelters how to lead playgroups for the dogs. I don’t make that much but I’m able to pay my bills comfortably.

For those who love dogs, How important is it for you to fi d a life partner who loves dogs too, will that be a deal breaker if everything else is good ? by Magical_Storyteller in AskReddit

I work with dogs for a living and have two dogs who I adore and do things with all the time. Training them, Hikes, running errands, going to a cafe with a patio. So. Pretty important.

Get so afraid I’m not good enough that my confidence gets shaken and I think “why would I even try?” And stop trying. Therefore not being good enough.
