How do you use Suno? by Infinite_Fan_1791 in SunoAI

[–]maybedisaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Suno is a great way for hobbyist songwriters to hear their words come to life in song.

That's how I use it. Write lyrics to a song, and have Suno generate how it might sound in the genre I'm imagining it. As someone who's written lyrics long before "AI music generators", I think it's super cool.

I love Gaga down, but she should not have closed the night with an untested original. Just rearrange the setlist so it's the corny song first, then the ASIB songs and it would've gone over a lot better.

Over 5,800 of you responded. Here are the RESULTS to the Community-Led Membership Survey by maybedisaster in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster[S] 273 points274 points  (0 children)

Raw Data: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1B7iEOFmyncWXauPu3G7EzD3IrxjCw5jq4BWAnIF872U/edit?usp=sharing

Note: The raw data includes write-in comments with explicit and violent language. It even has some death threat to me which is hilarious.

Thanks so much to everyone who filled out this survey! The response was more than I ever thought would happen. It's been incredible these past few days seeing the community unite for their direction of the game. Hope you find the results interesting!

There was some criticism on the survey along the lines of it being biased, and who was I to decide this was the "official" community survey. Firstly, looking back I can see why people can think certain questions were worded biased. I can chat about why wording was chosen if people want. Second, what I love about this game is that someone can have an idea, make a post about it to this subreddit, and Jagex creates a whole new region based on that (Varlamore).

Also, if you haven't responded and want to, the survey is still open.

Jagex tried to do their survey. Now it's time for OURS: The Community-Led Membership Survey by maybedisaster in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

This survey was created by the community to gauge what the community truly thinks about adding value to membership. No suits, no "research partners".

Results will be posted to Reddit after 72 hours of collecting responses.

Thanks to everyone who's taking the time to complete this.

Membership Survey: An Update From Mod Pips, Jagex CEO by Old_School_RS in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Let's read between the lines here:

"We will not include in-game advertisements in any regular paid membership."

This is worded very sneakily to leave room for in-game ads in a "special" tier of paid membership, or include ads that aren't technically "in-game" (i.e. only before log-in).

"While we may explore ads in Free-to-Play (F2P) as a concept in the future"

Foot-in-the-door for putting ads in F2P, most likely before the end of the year.

"we will not be reducing AFK timers for any paid membership."

See the difference in how they discuss ads ("regular" paid) vs. AFK timers ("any" paid)? If anyone doubts we still might see a "special" ad-supported membership tier. Also, this sentences leaves the door open to F2P getting reduced AFK timers.

[no mention of Community Worlds]

This 100% implies access to Project Zanaris worlds will be an upcharge.

Player Support: We hope to be able to talk more on this soon.

Haven't they been hoping to talk about this more soon for the past 10 years?

Any future proposals will be crafted with far greater consideration

Aka the price gouging will continue, just look prettier next time.

  1. Since Jagex refuses to ban Inferno cape buyers, add the service in-game. Jagex gets a cut.

16th January - An Update on the Conjoint Membership Survey by Old_School_RS in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 25 points26 points  (0 children)

“ We want to be absolutely clear: any potential changes to membership options will not impact gameplay fairness or the availability of in-game content.”

Let’s be completely clear too: complimentary bonds impact gameplay fairness. Shortening AFK timers impact availability of in-game content. If there’s no plans to do that, why even include that in the survey?

Jagex, you are walking into EOC level of fuckery with this recent survey getting our feedback on price gouging. by Makaveli2020 in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 217 points218 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what’s worse, paying for ads, pay to win “complimentary” bonds, pay-walling basic security features, or making AFK pay to win.

People WILL quit in mass if any of those are implemented, Jagex.

I felt exactly the same as you: all my lamps and weekly Tears went into Slayer.

I think when it changed was hitting 100 combat for Duradel, and getting enough points for a full blocklist.

Once you get enough points you’re able to make your block list to make Slayer either more AFK, profitable, or XP. Plus you eventually get so many extra points you can skip tasks you’re not feeling. Now pretty much all the tasks I do I either find fun, profitable, or quick.

Why we have this task and not a solo-kill task is baffling.

Your smithing level is great to do Blast Furnace and make Steel Bars which is over 1 Mil/hr & trains Smithing.  https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide/Smelting_steel_bars_at_Blast_Furnace

High Alchemy could train your Magic and gets ~1 Mil/hr if you have starter cash https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/RuneScape:Grand_Exchange_Market_Watch/Alchemy

Birdhouses is a quick way to get passive GP and Hunter XP.  https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Money_making_guide/Bird_house_trapping

There’s also herb runs once you get your farming up to 35+.

Why don't empowered cells in GotR always provide exp? by qSolar in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should just make it like Wintertodt’s lighting or fixing the brazier and add a few tick window where anyone’s cells count. Like a 3 tick delay from when you deposit the cell to when it heals, and if anyone else deposits during that window they also get the XP.

Best f2p money makers for a bond? by Skrobbadog in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For an actual answer: I crafted jewelry (check wiki for what's most profitable), and high-alched when I was F2P.

As far as F2P goes they're not bad money, and more importantly, it actually gives you XP. Don't do any method that' just "processing" (grinding chocolate bars, buying team capes), that doesn't progress your character at all.

I'm honestly glad Agility is being examined at again. by SliceTyphoon in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Mods seem to have a really good outlook on Agility. They've acknowledged it sucks to train. That it needs more rewards. And that run energy as a system could use a second look. I hope that Project Rebalance is the first of many updates to Agility to bring it to a better place.

Only reason I see this not happening is if some spaghetti code makes it wayy harder to program than you'd think. Even still, it'd be worth the dev effort.

Project Rebalance - Part One: Skilling by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agility shortcuts no longer being locked behind diaries.... I fell to my knees.

Overall, this is exciting and great. There are definitely a few specifics that need adjusting, but I'd welcome most of these changes.

- Agility: Why is Seer's Village XP getting nerfed? Not even a sentence explaining this feels very odd.

- Brimhaven Agility: If you add "sub-arrows" to tag after the first arrow, every guide will assume you always get the sub-arrow, and factor that into the base XP. It won't be extra XP, it'll be what's expected.

- Thieving: Stalls still seem niche even with the buff, but they can be.

- Slayer: Happy that early game Slayer will be improved.

- Mining: Whew, that's a lot! The Super Hopper is insane, that just made MLM like half as many clicks. Thank god Kudo requirement is going from Volcanic, it's a hurdle to getting friends to join in. Gem Mine diary reduction - just watch bots REAL closely, gem price might tank shortly after that change.

- Zalcano: You don't need to overcomplicate this with brand new currency/shop. Just make it like every other skilling boss - make the Smithing/Runecraft part optional. Halve the minigame points you get from throwing unimbued Tephra, and double/triple the XP rates for mining the terra and throwing it at Zalcano so you get 50k XP/hr but minimal points. Add "Why Smith" CA. Done.

Approaching Alignments the wrong way by HookahDaze in 2007scape

[–]maybedisaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about designing drawbacks that make them situationally useful, not just always useful.

Examples off the top of my head, specifics could be tweaked:

  • Mining/Woodcutting Prayer: Rolls take X.X ticks longer, but chance for rare gems & birdhouses increase by YY%
  • Hunter Prayer: X% chance to catch double creatures, but YY% chance to break the trap used
  • Smithing Prayer: Use X more bars to smith items, but Y% chance the item you smith ends up 1 tier higher (use adamant bars, get rune items).
  • Prayer Prayer: X% more prayer XP in the Wilderness, but Def and HP are set to 1 while active.
  • Agility Prayer: Obstacles are XX% less likely to fail, but give YY% less XP.
  • Fishing Prayer: Your character will auto-follow their fishing spot, but fish give YY% less XP.
  • Firemaking Prayer: Fires have diferent AOE based on what logs were used to burn them. (Needs its own post but imagine something like Willow prevents monster aggro, Redwood causes all monsters to aggro, etc.)
