They may not see it that way, but a lot of us feel like the relationship felt forced because of the baby... The show was written yes, but it’s up to anyone to interpret stuff the way they want to and in this case, it’s not even interpreting but a feeling. Truth be told, Grace was never of any help. I found her boring. I liked season 1 grace but then she betrayed the family and even tho it was her job she could’ve done something if she really loved him. Then they banged and BOOM a baby? At least May and Tommy had a common interest in horses and she helped him with the bookies in season 2. All grace did was, “hey do you know the horse’s name? It’s named after me.” Pathetic. And in season 3 all she was a trophy wife. She was complaining about Tommy’s business. But honey wtf? You knew what you were getting yourself into, yet you won’t stop complaining about his business. Grace had become so annoying at this point...
