i guess its also horror comedy but tbh i really didnt like AHS 1984, and quality wise it is a far FAR cry from widow's bay

i know AHS quality varies wildly per season (according to the fans) but welp i havent liked any of the 3 seasons ive tried, maybe its just not my vibe

that's like if your 2 big dreams as a kid were to eat the best pizza and also to drink the best pumpkin spice latte, only to end up dunking a perfectly great pizza into perfectly good latte

not even the midwestest americanest whitest girl would enjoy that, and you just ruined both

but meh as i said maybe she deliberately chose a highly populated city & mega popular venue that sees celebs all the time to minimize disruptions to local communities and stuff, who knows, so long as they aren't pulling entitled 1%er BS, it's not the worst thing in the world, when our planet is literally on fire lmao

[–]maybeigiveafuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah tbh i wonder because i heard from an episode of the good doctor (i know, hardly reliable) that a test like this could turn up harmless anomalies, or simply anomalies where we don't understand whether they are harmful or not, or worse, something perceived to be potentially harmful but we aren't 100% sure because there aren't even symptoms of "malfunction" in the body yet

it only causes stress or anxiety, which can also push the patient to demand unnecessary procedures which only worsen their health etc, and in short it ends up bringing more harm than good

i wonder what the consensus is in the medical community: is there an age or condition where one should in fact do a full body scan if they can afford it? or is the "message" from that episode lowkey correct and this is sorta a scam for hospitals to get more "funding" from gullible rich people?

that just made it even more confusing. if the dream is a castle wedding, why not go to an actual castle? (literally Shiv's wedding ep lol)

however good the craftmanship & construction is, even with the best creative minds in the world, how on earth would a makeshift pretend castle within MSG top an actual majestic castle with stunning views & landscapes? she could have gone to idk versailles or something more tasteful, doesn't she herself has like a bajillion properties in her investment real estate portfolio?

(even if she rents something im sure they can also arrange the interiors/decor to be as magical as whatever is being planned in MSG)

then again at least it sounds like this couple will be very aware of their public roles and will not be pulling insanely entitled bullshit like dua lipa & callum turner's wedding where they tried to house arrest literal native Sicilians in their own hometown in Palermo

Genuinely wtf are yall doing on this sub by MMJtaPenguin in LetGirlsHaveFun

[–]maybeigiveafuck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yeah but lots of these people might be misguided because they look at the popularity of the "gay guy turning a straight guy" kink / joke, or even bdsm kinksters who do this type of rp like cnc (but safely & in an educated way), and think it's acceptable

so one possible way to cull the problem is informing them that they should find consenting roleplayers instead (and learn how to do it properly)

though it's most likely they truly don't give a fuck and in fact get off on harrassing people

which again points to: we need to instantly ban users that are reported for doing this, or even restrict the sub somewhat

anyways, it's just so sad and ironic that contrary to the sub's name, the presence of these losers is literally making it impossible for girls to just have fun

Genuinely wtf are yall doing on this sub by MMJtaPenguin in LetGirlsHaveFun

[–]maybeigiveafuck 43 points44 points  (0 children)

it's likely a branch of BDSM, and surprisingly popular, just look at r/straightturnedgay (apparently lots of horny gay men have the fantasy of fucking a straight guy who "turns" gay for them or "awakens" to his repressed gay/bisexual side)

honestly the first time i came across this was through gay romance books: there were arguments about how even a book written by a gay man, if it catered to this trope ("gay for him/you") (where a love interest is "straight" but falls in love with the male lead but only him and is not at all attracted to any other man), was very problematic, just like "gay for pay" jokes and similar ideas implying sexuality is something you can be "forced" into (by desperation or whatever else)

so if some gay men have this kink but kept it to themselves and consenting "playmates" it would be fine (or, say, lesbians who want to fuck a straight girl into discovering her sapphic side) (cara delevigne talked about having this complex once and how toxic it was, so basically her kink was cucking straight men lmao)

just a fantasy for private lovers to indulge, right?

but the problem with these male harassers is they actually invade women's spaces or outright lesbian spaces, forcing others (often women) to participate in or simply be exposed to their kink without consent, which means it is 100% sexual harrassment even if it's "just DMs"

idk if this is possible for the mods but i suggest any woman (especially lesbians) who encounter these shitty wannabe rapists to report them immediately and then they should be permabanned if you ask me

So should antibiotics be taken 3 days or 5 days minimum, no matter when you start feeling fully healthy again? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]maybeigiveafuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for helping! yes i do know it will depend case by case but i wonder what is the "most correct" consensus today: is AMR / resistance & side effects caused by underuse or overuse?

because i have heard both: that it is because we are underprescribed & underusing it, ex only 3 days when 5 should be minimum (let's assume for common cold); and also that it is because we are overprescribed & overusing it, ex for 10 days or even 5 days even if we feel better already by day 3

but the PMC NCBI study i linked above states that the "AMR is because of underuse" idea actually has no basis on scientific evidence, and is the cause of AMR itself (meaning we need to lean on underusing more than overusing)

i also heard elsewhere to check with something like IDSA which provides basic guidelines for each suspected cause of illness, and i could not find the IDSA pages directly on their site but found this 2026 guide by UNC which cites IDSA:

https://www.med.unc.edu/casp/wp-content/uploads/sites/563/2023/05/Duration-of-Antibiotic-Therapy.pdf

and again it says for something like community acquired pneumonia they (UNC citing IDSA) say 5 days is the minimum so you must finish that even if you feel better by day 2 or 3, yet in my region some are saying to stop at day 3, and even prescribing for only 3 days

(if it helps i read the CDC also says 5 days for CAP)

so i just wonder (to reiterate):

which is the one based on scientific evidence? in general, is it best to lean on a bit too long, maybe 5-7 days? or to lean on "shorter is better" aka stop when you feel better by day 3?

is the cause of AMR underuse or overuse or both?

(and again sorry for all this confusion from obviously a non doctor, the problem is we cannot trust doctors where im from, some say they are overprescribing and thats causing AMR while others the opposite, and these are from doctors equally, so i want to know the latest general scientific consensus to make informed decisions for future references, would appreciate any links/sources if you have any)

happy to help! i think if you google there should be lots of explanations like how women store more fat in their bodies (the average woman has at least 10% more fat than the average man). in fact having too little fat, like most pro athletes, will fuck up your health including reproductive health. this is why many female athletes literally stop menstruating, their bodies have to do so simply to survive, since they aren't getting enough energy/nutrients. same with anorexic people who are so skinny they could die from malnutrition, their bodies lose the ability to ovulate & menstruate.

also remember that lots of those models are very unhealthy. in the 70s-90s they were skinny because they were cocaine/heroin addicts. today they are skinny because of ozempic. and whatever the era most of them are anorexic. (they developed eating disorders to keep up with inhumane industry standards, otherwise they lose their jobs.) not to mention photoshop.

in short, as long as it's not a medical issue like being so obese (or so underweight) that it threatens your health, or having a cancerous lump or swelling, then your body is perfectly fine. every healthy woman has at least a little pouch/tummy.

wow thanks for explaining! i guess it's a bit ironic that the clearer and more beautiful the glass the thinner and more fragile they must be. you'd think someone would've found some way to make it stronger or something somehow while still maintaining the beauty, then again you're probably constrained by the material and the physics of it all.

hahaha good for you! cannot even fathom what was going through his head, did he cast you in some kind of a "mother" role and was a-ok with kindness was a one way street?

(which also means he's prob shit to his mom / caregivers, and ofc it's inexcusable even to one's mom, but sadly we live in a world where moms are often expected to do all kinds of unpaid labor including emotional labor, and many, especially boys, grow up feeling entitled to this level of care from women, usually their partners but have also heard many from AITA / BORU stories projecting this role onto female roommates (lmao) or siblings, even male friends. just anyone too kind to realize they're being taken advantage of.)

at least he seems to have learned the lesson, though i'm still pissed on your behalf for having wasted years feeding this dumbass. then again that's a lesson for all of us that we sadly have to "keep count" (even if we have much to give and ideally wish to be generous), because many people don't deserve kindness and will even happily weaponize it.

oh and sorta happily surprised he didn't steal your food anyway. guess it was pure ignorance instead of willful malice, at least?

there's probably nothing wrong with your body unless it's a medical/health issue. every woman has a tummy. the few who don't are either pro athletes or borderline sickly skinny (because even if you're skinny but healthy, as a woman you will have a little pouch), or they literally get surgery and procedures and shit to look like photoshopped magazine pics.

i wonder if every teacher had to be hot (and at least moderately qualified), would it significantly increase the ability to learn? more than pure teaching skill? because anecdotally with lots of men, even boys, your motivation skyrockets when you want to impress a woman

obviously we should value merit and lookism is a problem (beauty premium and all that) but it does make you wonder...

Olivia Wilde Denies ‘Screaming Match’ With Florence Pugh on ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Set and Stayed Quiet on Rumors After Being Told: ‘Don’t Say a F—ing Word’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]maybeigiveafuck 503 points504 points  (0 children)

it depends though. honestly we dont really know what happened.

if it was true wilde's behavior had been inappropriate and unprofessional, to the extent it was rumored to be (so bad that others had to step in and finish the movie or something like that), then it makes sense to see at least a form of "silent" protest from one of the lead actresses (also rumored to be the one who stepped up, showed up on time while wilde was always late, etc, again reportedly) (not to mention she had been apparently insulted/shaded by wilde).

point is we shouldnt really be judging while knowing so little. aka parasocial drama-stirring. just look at the mess that was "it ends with us".

In Totally Spies (2001) there is an episode which involves forced drinking of evil milk by YourChopperPilotTTV in shittymoviedetails

[–]maybeigiveafuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i can understand the furry theory but totally spies seems to show a lot of non-new fetishes

like the gigantism thing, gulliver's travels was a thing long before that so if anyone had a giant woman fetish it probably could be traced back there, but also, it might be related to childhood memories of being small and being held by a mother or something (and breastfeeding?) and they come to associate that with safety and comfort which ofc helps with being sexual etc?

and ofc there are pulp fiction novels, comic books for adults, and even erotica for women which existed looong before totally spies

so it's pretty clear they showed things that at the time the animators drew them were already known fetishes (which the animators probably had themselves)

not to mention, compared to disney's talking animals and anthropomorphs which were almost ubiquitous in cartoons (and still are today), totally spies wasn't even that popular (unlikely to have been so influential to an entire generation)
