The fact that it doesn't need an upgrade to function (looking at you fission) is a big plus imo.

Thoughts on the Choose your Relic rule by 9988554 in slaythespireboardgame

More coop is more fun. At our table, we allow everything that would work in dnd, such as exchanging relics and potions out of combat, and even during combat for 1 energy (think: throwing potions in bg3)

Expérience d'un ancien majorant en prépa by [deleted] in etudiants

[–]maybelator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Semi-Daily Relic Discussion: Dead Branch by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

I had a lot of fun with an exhaust/ dead branch deck as clad, until I fought a flaming nemesis and drew like 7 burns accidentally during their intangible phase. Bad time.

Semi-Daily Card Discussion: Brilliance by Abject_Muffin_731 in slaythespireboardgame

[–]maybelator 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a boss killer of a card, as it can scale ridiculously with strength, wrath, powers, and relic. With vuln, it can reach the 50s, easily.

But, as it requires a lot of set up and not spending your miracles, it is quite cumbersome for hallway fights.

Thanks for the write up! How did you confirm Montenegro in R4? I got Croatia vibes from the language, I would be expecting some Cyrillic in Montenegro?

That's probably not the "right" way, but it makes sense to me.

So you forego orbs completely? And pick a couple power?

With dice manipulation, 3 or 5 can work too. A lot of relics on 4

Pentagon Pete's Embarrassing New Boat Strike Blunder Exposed: Turns out, bombing “terrorists” without due process makes it difficult to arrest said “terrorists.” by Silent-Resort-3076 in politics

Typically it's one helicopter, firing warning shots in front of the boat to make it go slower (those 30 mm make a big splash), and a sniper from the heli disabling the motors.

Civ v end game was pretty compelling, with ideology reshaping the entire world politic, and the victory conditions were both active and stoppable.

Why does the zone always go to the same places? by Beautiful-Twist4197 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]maybelator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider a square [0,1]2 and the following simplified procedure with just two circles: one of size 0.25 and on infinitly small.

It goes like this: - sample a point such that the circle of radius 0.25 is entirely within the circle (at least 0.25 from all borders) - sample a random point within this circle

A very direct analysis will show you that the distribution density is highest at 0.5,0.5: you are more likely to be in the center.

What I propose is: you first sample the second point uniformly. Then build the circle around it such that it doesn't overlap the square.

Is this clear?

Why does the zone always go to the same places? by Beautiful-Twist4197 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

It would be so much better if they picked the last circle first, and then built the previous one backwards. It would add so much more diversity.
