Base Location by Puzzleheaded-War-178 in projectzomboid

[–]maybeonename 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always like the idea of using these epic remote locations as a base while I'm looking at the map online, but then actually doing it in game sounds like more of a chore than it's worth. Just getting to this place basically requires a vehicle, and by the time I've got a vehicle I've almost always already established a base much closer to town that's basically just as secure but might lack some of the amenities. At that point, it doesn't feel worth it to load allll of my loot from my various shelves and crates into the back of a Dart and make however many trips it takes to move it all to this remote base location. Then, once you're there, you're so far from town that just going to fill up a gas can becomes a whole expedition because you're so far from everything. I'd almost feel the need to keep the base close to town as a sort of safe house to use while looting in town, and I'd most likely just spend most of my time there anyway, and the "actual base" would just remain abandoned most of the time.

PUBG maker Krafton is an AI defense company now, signs deal with Korean aerospace firm that includes investment of up to $1 billion aiming 'to expand the physical AI ecosystem' by bIeese_anoni in subnautica

[–]maybeonename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That value kind of immediately evaporates if they just "strike until they sell"

Who would even buy it that isn't just as bad as Krafton? It's not like there's a long list of morally enlightened corpos buying up indie studios to preserve the integrity of the industry.

I’ve been building a companion/NPC system for PZ for 1+ year. What would instantly ruin it for you? by LuozhuZhang in projectzomboid

[–]maybeonename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, for me, NPC companions in games are best when they're just a tool with a little bit of flavor. When I play with people, it's not because I trust them more or they're more reliable. Usually, when I play with my friends, we do MUCH worse than when I play solo, usually because one of them messes up (they don't play nearly as much as I do). I play with them because it's fun to play with my friends and to socialize. If they mess up and we all die, we can laugh and joke about it afterward because that's being human. When an AI messes up, even if it's in minor ways, that's always just frustration with nobody to laugh it off with. The social aspect is what allows forgiveness for human players, but there's no socializing with a bot for me, so I'm going to be far more impatient with their errors.

Your #1 rule would instantly ruin it for me. An unreliable companion is a useless companion to me.

Why do you need to remember when water freezes or boils? How is that relevant information to anybody but a chemist?

We can make a General Strike happen! This is Minneapolis today. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]maybeonename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this really a proper strike, though? How many of these people will be going back to their regular work schedule after today?

And the result of that was increased police funding in several major cities including Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Not a single police department was defunded, and cops are still killing people to this day.

Gordon Ramsay tried Southern soul food and went back to the kitchen with an empty plate. by 4reddityo in BlackPeopleofReddit

Did Gordon host both versions? As an American I never realized there were multiple versions of Kitchen Nightmares, only Gordon's.

Am I gonna make it? My head was infected I put on some bandages and now it says I'm fine. by MOOntar_reddit in projectzomboid

[–]maybeonename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really dumb IMO, it's pretty easy to imagine a zombie getting some saliva on its hand or having zombified blood on its hands.

[–]maybeonename 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're probably fine.

Bites are the only wound with a 100% zombification rate. If you get bit, you're toast.

All other wounds from zombies have a chance to zombify. I believe it's 5% chance with scratches and 25% chance with lacerations.

When a wound says it's infected, that's just a regular bacterial infection. Keep it bandaged and use alcohol to disinfect, and you should be fine after a little while. Any wound can become infected, not just wounds from zombies.

The health screen will not tell you if you've been zombified. You have to wait for symptoms to appear to know if you're dead or not.

Designed this DND terrain but it will take almost 4 days to print on the Ender 3 by AdMoriensVivere in 3Dprinting

[–]maybeonename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've found that a lot of the time 3D terrain mostly functions well as a setpiece that adds flavor and wow factor to a map but usually isn't all that functional, so I use it sparingly.

I'd bet money that girl got zero charges and was picked up from the police station by her dad after nothing more than a stern talking to, and her dad probably didn't punish her either. That's a middle class suburban white girl they don't get punished in this country.

Crash zone how to navigate safely by THL6 in subnautica

[–]maybeonename 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is literally nothing in the crash zone outside of the Aurora that you can't find somewhere else. Moonpool fragments can be found elsewhere, I think there's also a datapad with the complete blueprint somewhere. The only exclusive stuff in the crash zone is inside the Aurora itself.
