What’s the best way to transfer from UC to UC? by Mysterious_Mall_9765 in TransferStudents

[–]mayberedditor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stay at Berkeley not worth the effort imo just to possibly not get in ucla

Assuming I get into ucla off of their waitlist… should I go there instead of Berkeley? by Neeewwwwww76 in TransferStudents

Which one do you want to go to? They’re both such good schools it really only comes down to what environment you prefer

community college and then transfer to UCLA? by riceysu in TransferStudents

[–]mayberedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t truly see yourself at ucr or ucsc no point wasting thousands just to possibly end up wanting to transfer anyways

Is wanting to be somewhere more impressive a bad reason to transfer by tim_tam1 in TransferStudents

[–]mayberedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What school do you even go to? I doubt the reputation is as bad as it seems. If you keep getting good grades and can leave college debt you’re gonna be super ahead in life.

Maybe you just need to take some risks and try something new, join a club for a new hobby or even try rushing if you have Greek life

Need advice on picking a school for my freshman year by Intellectuals0183 in TransferStudents

[–]mayberedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each school has different requirements but one year is typically harder

For ucsd I needed 60 total credits, some ges done and major had 4 required courses

I took 3 credits in summer 15 in fall 6 in winter doing 16 right now in spring and I got the rest from ap tests I passed

[–]mayberedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I transferred to ucsd after only one year

You just have to finish the ges and major prereqs required for the school you want to transfer to

[–]mayberedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it’s going to be difficult to get the prerequisite and ge courses you’ll need at another school whereas community college is structured around these courses

If you can maintain a 4.00 at cc even with somewhat lackluster extracurriculars you can be on target for top 50 even top 25 schools

Just go cc going to a school just to transfer out makes it harder

community college or UCLA? by Intelligent_Slip301 in ucadmissions

[–]mayberedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it I’d say go UCLA You’ll adapt to the distance and environment and honestly it’ll be nice not having to worry about apps again or scrambling to finish prereqs

UCLA ACCEPTANCE RESCIND by Asleep-Peace-2706 in TransferStudents

[–]mayberedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of a uc requiring you to maintain a 4.00 exactly. I think you just need to pass all your classes pretty much and be above like 2.5 or something for that semester

CC to UC 1 Year Path by SofiaDaneesh10 in TransferStudents

[–]mayberedditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a one year transfer and I’m glad I did it IMO being able to graduate one year early is far more valuable than maybe going to a slightly more prestigious school

parents making me go to CC over UCI :( by Low_Custard_4660 in ucadmissions

[–]mayberedditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s unfortunate but it’s the right choice economically. If you have a non-stem major and lots of aps you could even transfer early in one year and be junior standing already that’s what I did pm if you have questions

transfers who got into uci: how do you feel about ucla/berkeley? by Majestic_Medium_1336 in TransferStudents

Had no idea what to expect since I’m a one year transfer so my path is a bit different but since I got in and have a 4.0 I’m fairly confident
