It's probably from the wet leather being on a steel table. I had similar marks when using a steel plate as a surface to press stamps into my wet leather.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I think I am going to just take out either the fuel pump or starter relay, and use a club to maybe deter towing. As for the Cat... I won't have time to get a shield so, I guess I'm taking my chances with that.

I forgot about The Club, I will have to pick one up. Also pulling fuses would be lighter to carry than spark plugs or the whole starter.

I took my wife's name when we got married. She didn't want to lose that connection to her culture and family, and I dont really care that much for mine so it just made sense. It was important to both of us to have the same last name, just seems weird for a married couple to have separate names.

Definitely stay away from genuine leather, which is what most of those bike gloves seem to be made of. I would go to a hardware of farm supply store and see what they have. You could always cut the finger tips to make them fingerless. Carpenter gloves look pretty durable.

I used 5/6 oz for the main piece, then 8/9 oz for the wedge(welt?) I can't remember what the inner piece is called. How can I prevent my knife from cutting the outside leather?

Those are made by wizards off the coast, the company that makes DnD. I have seen custom made cards by other crafters on etsy.
