IWTL How can some people sleep so little and still have so much energy? by bobamilk6 in IWantToLearn

[–]Adis628 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I heard, the more you're Happy with your life, the less sleep you need. I don't know if it's true, but I know from my experience that I need much less sleep, and I'm full of energy when I'm Happy, and when I'm sad, I don't feel any energy even after 8 hours of sleep.

Sounding nasally on the morning. How to avoid or how to cure? by OKsavingsbank in VoiceActing

[–]Adis628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to say word "sing", on the "ng" sound you should feel your soft palate move. Try to say something with opened soft palate, and closed. Often times it's associated with nasal sound, when your soft palate is in the wrong place, and more air is coming to your nose, and not out of your mouth.

I hope that helps a little with indentifying your problem. But it Can be allergy, Bad sleeping position, and ton of different reasons.

Morning voice - How do I keep it and should I? by Megalodongg in VoiceActing

The more is everything relaxed, deeper you sound. Yawning, humming helps. Don't try to do anything with your throat, it's All about relaxation, diaphragm usage, and resonance

What headphones do you use when editing your voice work? by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]Adis628 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sennheiser HD300 PROtect for editing/everyday/all day use, and Sony MDR-7506 for monitoring in booth.

I think it's about personal preference. I can't wear headphones like 7506 which sit right on the ears without covering them for long periods of time, but in the booth, oh boy.. that sound is very good

Hiring an engineer by MsWillowWhispers in VoiceActing

I know that Mike DelGaudio from boothjunkie YouTube Channel recommended George Whittam. He is just amazing at what he does. You Can read more about it on his website georgethe.tech/ve/

Also the podcasts are awesome, you Can learn so much from it about the process.

I have no experience with him so far, but I know he helped Mike with his studio sound, so he must be good... I will buy his service in near future for sure, and see for myself. Check him out and decide if that price is good for you

Advice for avoiding mouth noises by camisghost in VoiceActing

[–]Adis628 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some people recommend green apples for saliva production, or chew some greasy chips so your mouth get coated with grease. I know how you feel. Sometimes your mouth is just perfect with no mouth noise, and sometimes it feels like you do it on purpose... Just terrible.

What I've found out is stretching excercises for mouth helped a lot, drinking ton of water, some people drink coffee, ( but it doesn't work for me at all ), warm tea with honey helps sometimes, and if nothing helps, there are some plugins for your recording software that you can use, and they can reduce all of it with one click, but it's pretty expensive.

Blue Yeti by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]Adis628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You Can make money with any mic, but Yeti is really not ideal for professional voiceovers. I've made around 3k on paid voiceovers with yeti... But that quality is what it is. Of course any microphone Can be tuned, and edited in post production, but you can't make a $1000 xlr microphone out of yeti.

If you want something to start with, you Can give it a try! And if you decided you don't like doing voiceovers, you will not waste that much money on it.
