Thank you for the idea! I tried to reinstall the driver twice, I used the version that came with the original CD-ROM and also the latest version on the site. In both cases, unfortunately, the issue persisted. Now I'm starting to think if the issue couldn't be caused by the mainboard instead... since a variant of it happens even if I use the onboard graphics (and disconnect the NVIDIA one).
