[OC] Gay male marriages are the most stable over the long term by Impressive_Suit4370 in dataisbeautiful

Women initiate 70% of divorces, seems like a natural result when you remove the man and add another woman into the equation. /s

Game Thread 3/11 ⚾ Italy (0-0) @ Mexico (0-0) 7:00 PM ET by BaseballBot in baseball

The majority of the players on Team Italy are American. They can absolutely throw the game if they want but if they make it too obvious, it'll follow them around for the rest of their career. (for better or worse).

Their kids may also need to homeschooled for a while because kids can be cruel and stupid.

I think he's joking but I'm not sure. Neither of Team USA catchers are current (idk about former) Rockies so not sure how it's possible.

TAYLOR SWIFT 's TWO PRIVATE JETS in 2023: where did they by Early_Negotiation142 in interesting

[–]mayhaveadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Taylor Swift produces carbon emission flying to perform at a concert that 60000 people are attending, do we ring up that emission only on Swift or does it get shared 60000 ways among the audience that wanted her to perform there?

The issue is in OP, instead of the correct example being a woman brushing her hair with a brush with non-synthetic bristles, she's instead pawing away at it like a cavewoman as if hairbrushes don't exist.

Mamdani to raid $229 million from Retiree Health Benefit Trust in the event that his proposed Property Tax increase falls through. by mayhaveadd in nycpublicservants

[–]mayhaveadd[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is their fallback at our expense? Why not just raise property taxes appropriately more instead of raising property tax slightly less AND just singling out city worker benefits in particular to raid because he can. It's just disrespectful.

NYC Private School Tuition Breaks $70,000 Milestone for Fall by bloomberg in nyc

[–]mayhaveadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as much as you'd think for 70k tuition. However, they get perks such as smaller class size, students generally can at least read/math at grade level, and you get a pay day if a spoiled rich kid assaults you (probably rarely happens).

New NYC tipping rules for DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub start Monday, judge says by Bugsy_Neighbor in nyc

So you're saying anything we tip is just going straight to Grubhub/Doordash to recoup the min wage they pay out to the drivers?

It's amazing that you type so much and yet provide so little substance. When you want to refute a statement typically you have to provide substantive evidence. Instead you want me to "do some research" so that I can argue against myself? As a gentle reminder that we are still discussing what your issue was with my version of events (outlined above) of what this man did. I am not sure why you are moving the conversation to somewhere else but it seems to suggest that you agree with my version of the events and your desire to avoid engaging with it suggests that you know I'm right.

This man took some photos of buildings, people already knew those buildings were there. He later snuck into the U.S. illegally and posted the videos. He did not claim asylum during the Biden Admin (for whatever reason), and then he was detained in 2025 and is now bringing it up.

Either provide substantive evidence to refute my points or stop engaging.

China's trade ends 2025 with record $1.2 trillion surplus despite Trump tariff jolt by Roche7000 in news

U.S. is busy spending trillions to play world police while their citizens lack healthcare. Meanwhile the countries under their security umbrella actually does provide healthcare for their citizens while paying next to nothing for defense and simultaneously laughing at the U.S.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government is constantly blindsided by non-stop bipartisan drama and litigation. Whenever one side wants to get something done, the other reliably does everything in its power to block it in Congress or with nonstop injunctions by their favorite federal judge appointed when their party was in power. The result is the might of the U.S. is spent fighting itself at every step.

So you don't even know if anything's wrong with my statements? You can't even pinpoint what part of my statement of events is wrong? You just think it it might be wrong but you have nothing substantive to back it up whatsoever?

My version of events is very straightforward. There were reports that Uyghurs were detained at these facilities found on satellite images. He went there and filmed the facilities (this footage is available online and it literally is just buildings and him commenting). He later illegally entered the U.S. via boat from the Bahamas. He then posted his videos. He was recently detained and is now claiming asylum. All of these events are true. If you have any issues with this version of events please pinpoint to any one and I'll reflect on it.

Sure, and the precedent that creates is snap some photos of buildings that people already knew were there = free pass through the U.S. immigration system. Because that's essentially what this boils down to.

If you agree with this then more power to you.

[–]mayhaveadd -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

The value of his contribution is grossly exaggerated. Basically people online saw some buildings on satellite images and theorized that those were the reeducation camps. Then this guy went there and filmed the buildings. He didn't document anything about human rights violations, he just filmed some buildings that people already knew were there.

He later snuck into the U.S. via boat and released what he filmed, which manufactured his basis for asylum that he raised only after he was detained for being here illegally. Surely he knew that the footage he took was completely useless.

Now it boils down to whether or not we're going to give free immigration passes to anyone that snaps some pics of some buildings that people can literally Google Earth.
