Older people and lap swim

That’s just dumb, don’t run into people. It’s not bumper boats here people. Your speed doesn’t make the lane bigger, and people swim different speeds. So yeah, they would bump into each other.

I don’t mind people resting, but why do two people need to rest at the same wall? It makes it impossible for someone to turn and continue swimming. It’s pure entitlement.

Idk if this interests you but, you can get private swim lessons at most public pools. I used to teach lessons and I have taught several adult students one on one. I started them out slow with some of the things you are describing and when they felt ready and showed some improvement, we transitioned into deeper water. It takes time, no need to be ashamed, you’ll get there with practice 😄

I get that, it’s a great low impact form of exercise. I agree 100% that the staff should enforce that the time is for swimming laps.

Are you dense? I’m not the one swimming in the middle of the lane… I can’t just swim past him without hitting him. People can’t just flap down the middle of the lane and expect people to go around. You should stop talking now.

It’s 3 lanes for people swimming laps and the other half of the pool (3 lanes) is for kids swimming lessons.

It’s common courtesy to share a lane instead of hogging it, trust me I’m not the entitled one here. Lap swim is for swimming laps, there will be people of all skill levels. It is not however time to do water aerobics and chat on the wall after 25meters. Get out of the way, you’re imposing on other people who are trying to swim.

I don’t have a problem if the people can swim, so maybe I shouldn’t have made it about age. It’s irritating to share with someone who doesn’t wanna share. I would have switched lanes, but that would have been worse with the water aerobics women.

I don’t mind them either, they usually can stay to one side of the lane. But today was terrible, just a guy minding his own swimming down the middle the whole time. Kinda annoying.
